Forest Green Glass was made by Anchor Hocking many years ago. This is a photo of some of my water pitchers. The tallest one however, isn’t made by ahchor Hocking. It is hand blown and close to 100 years old. Thanks for looking, Kim

The term banshee is an anglicization of the Irish bean sídhe or bean sí, or the Scots Gaelic bean shìth, – both meaning “woman of the fairy mounds” or “woman of peace”. Both names are derived from the Old Irish ben sídhe: bean: “woman”, and sídhe: “of the mounds” / In Irish legend, a banshee wails around a house if someone in the house is about to die. There are particular families who are believed to have banshees attached to them, and whose cries herald the death of a member of that family. Traditionally, when a citizen of an Irish village died, a woman would sing a lament (in Irish: caoineadh, [ˈkiːnʲə] or [ˈkiːnʲuː], “caoin” meaning “to weep, to wail”) at their funeral. These women singers are sometimes referred to as “keeners” and the best keeners would be in much demand. Legend has it that, for five great Gaelic families: the O’Gradys, the O’Neills, the O’Briens, the O’Connors, and the Kavanaghs, the lament would be sung by a fairy woman; having foresight, she would sing the lament when a family member died, even if the person had died far away and news of their death had not yet come, so that the wailing of the banshee was the first warning the household had of the death.
Acrylic on paper. A cubist still life with a quirky perspective
I love antique glassware and the dreams of childhood, so I intergrated some of my father-in-laws glassware and one of my son’s drawings into this painting. One of the few paintings I have for sale since most of my paintings are in private collections throughout the U.S. Original ptg: 36” x 24” / acrylic on canvas artist’s collection
You know when something just catches your eye and you have an urge to capture that image…

Glass and bootle
Glass of white wine on a wooden barrel
Gary captured this photo of Blenko Glass bottles prominantly displayed in the front window of The Purple Moon (the art gallery where our first photo exhibit debuted). The world famous glass manufacturer’s facility in Milton, WV is located only 30 miles from our home in Charleston, WV. Ironically, I graduated from Milton High School which was within walking distance of the glass-making plant. Enjoy!!Chad
Pretty antique glassware
Unedited image. 20 second exposure lit by a laser pointer. I love to play with different lighting effects so when the Camera Club gave me a little laser pointer as a thank you for something, I just knew I had to find something to do with it. I first tried using it to light a model but that was a complete disaster. I had better luck with this otherwise cheap and boring wine glass.

Another eating adventure… on my birthday, bored waiting for my dinner I put a Star Filter up to the lense on my Nikon and shot the water glasses. I loved the outcome of the ambiance of color and sparkel.
Photograph, very even light, stock type shot.
