One of my “bathroom mirror” self portraits. Keeps me occupied on foggy nights! : )
BUY THIS CARD AND FEEL GOOD FOR WEEKS! Delightful baby welcomes home her parents. Taken in 1996 in Greystones Wicklow. I was taking portrait shots of the baby, she´s my cousins, through the kitchen back door window when the baby just latched herself onto the glass by her tongue and almost magnetically began to rise up the window frame. I could hardly take the picture for laughter. 3393 views / 125 favouritings / 166 comments / 4 sales C’mon Guys and Girls buy a baby today!! This is a self-portrait of myself inspired by the art I always saw growing up as a Catholic. Just wondered how I might appear as a saint…...☺ / The original work was completed with watercolor and gouache media on Arches cold-press cotton rag.

Here’s a nice accident! It was to be a photo of my hubby but decided to make it all about me for once!! Ohh… And this is probably as close as we get to having a photo taken together these days!
Friday August 3rd It happened again tonight. The old fool had left the door unlocked; and there, above the cages, some apparently empty and some housing pink-eyed rodents; stood the vessel containing the precious green liquid and marked with the words: “NOT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION” once more, at my disposal. Thanks to yesterday’s acquisition of a rather splendid pocketwatch, I have been able to establish that administration of about 2floz of the serum is sufficient to remain effective for approximately two hours. I have thus resolved that, weather permitting, tomorrow’s edification will begin with the short trip into town whereupon I will partake in what will no doubt be another fruitful bout of “shopping”, after which with any luck, there will be ample time for a spot of inexpensive dining followed by a close inspection of the ample figures belonging to those delightful ladies up there at Pedlar’s Lane bathhouse, whom I understand, usually prefer to keep themselves hidden away from prying eyes. Dash it… Awfully sorry ladies!
I seriously doubt that anybody is going to buy a grainy card, poster or print of ugly old me but I nevertheless wanted to share this work with you. ;) / It’s one of those works that in real life gets tons of reactions when people see it hanging on our wall. I’m curious to see whether it will provoke any reactions here on this wonderful art community. In truth, this is only half the artwork. The other half has agreed to being upload to redbubble too, so, here she is: Showcased in Pay it Forward after a nomination by picketty because: / °°° / I have to nominate this fine work as my all time favourite because it has imprinted itself on my memory. I love the subtle colour treatment and the way the image halts me in my tracks. There are so many beautiful images, I have pages of favourite,... . but for me this is the most memorable. / °°° / Many thanks for this gigantic compliment!
This is an image created to illustrate an environmental portrait of an old camera called a “speed graphic”... the whole scene is meant to tell a story of a time when this camera was in use. I hope you enjoy this marvelous piece of photographic history. Here are some beautifully fitting words by Wayne Cook It’s setting atop my desk, / Bit dusty, but the bellows are still pliable, / Haven’t shot anything in it, / More than 20 years, / Maybe 30…. / Oh, but the negs…. / Glorious things, / Like still nuggets in reverse / I’d shine that enlarger through one…. / Whew…. those celluloids, / Never lost my awe, / The figures almost came to life, / There on the table. / Something about that lifeless frame, / I swear it moves when I turn my back. / Breaks my heart to leave it lay, / But the film…oh, god, it breaks the bank!
This had sch good response on flickr i thought i should share with all of you!
