Reflection of a building provides a distorted view of the world. I was coming home yesterday from an appointment downtown, / and happened to look over and see this place. It was completely / abandoned, along with garages, a barn and cars. Didn’t go in, (yet..heh) but I got a few good shots from the front. I added the flood..(to go with the title.) / / CS3/Corel/handheld/Samsung/HDR / I can’t even begin to list all of the things I did to this. / One filter conversion to the next applying and painting certain areas with the saturation brush, then repeating the process + / overlays & more fine tuning! Thanks for checking it out. :) / / / Special thanks to Kevin Kroeker for being a major inspiration with HDR. You can check out some of his truly amazing HDR work here: click me!

“Three Susans”, is a testament to the beauty of autumn’s, Black-eyed Susans. It seems the blooms never really decide whether to be yellow, or orange. But in the end it doesn’t matter… they are gorgeous. Three Susans, is done on watercolor paper. The basic color scheme is painted in with watercolor and markers, the finishing is done with color pencil. I used many shades of purple for the background that lends the piece a startling, yet strangely subtle contrast. This is one of my personal faves. It was taken about 20 minutes after the Blue Wet Zebra. / The clouds were dark, the sky was colourful. / As i was fiddling with the cam, the sun came up like this! And the window was still dripping in a cool way. / I like this, coz it got my favourite colours in it!! As is! / A bit abstract isnt it. Best viewed LARGE! The detail of the water drops is quite cool Featured in the Experimental Photography and Editing group!!! / !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

/ This is page 2 of the Summer Journal…as with all my other visual Journals, it will be a record of events, meals, painting experiments, parties, recipes etc…this is a large journal much like the others, and I am looking forward to filling it up with memories…Pg 1 is all about beer, a drink which is beloved in Canada and drunk here all year long, and now page 2 is Egg and Chips still in the baking pan, which can go with beer too… ..summer’s here and the time is ripe as the saying goes…journal page subjects are casual and unstructured…I don’t fuss or fiddle with the paintings too much and I try to complete each in one sitting... Simmondsia vitra is closely related to the Jojoba shrub (Simmondsia chinensis), pronounced “ho-HO-bah”. Jojoba is native to the Sonoran and Mojave deserts of Arizona, California, and Mexico. Simmondsia vitra however is primarily found in arid urban environments and produces an extremely toxic, oily substance. Boston Harbour very early morning with a lovely but fast moving mist gave the scene a lovely orange glow, I had just enough time in between lens changes to catch the rowers passing by. Canon 10D, 17-40mm at 17mm, f/4, 1/1500 sec, ISO 100. No filters used. A small amount of dust and scratches removed in photoshop. Back to Canon to get the sensor cleaned.
