Another shot taken in the Sydney Opera House while waiting to attend the Ballet last night … the teal colour is a reflection from the stormy harbour waters behind the glasses. Filters applied to give a painterly look. (See Ochre Etude for another photo taken the same evening) Look closely and you’ll see the inside of the Opera House sail structure reflected! I was coming home yesterday from an appointment downtown, / and happened to look over and see this place. It was completely / abandoned, along with garages, a barn and cars. Didn’t go in, (yet..heh) but I got a few good shots from the front. I added the flood..(to go with the title.) / / CS3/Corel/handheld/Samsung/HDR / I can’t even begin to list all of the things I did to this. / One filter conversion to the next applying and painting certain areas with the saturation brush, then repeating the process + / overlays & more fine tuning! Thanks for checking it out. :) / / / Special thanks to Kevin Kroeker for being a major inspiration with HDR. You can check out some of his truly amazing HDR work here: click me!

“Mr Wegg, if you was brought here loose in a bag to be articulated, I’d name your smallest bones blindfold equally with your largest, as fast as I could pick ‘em out, and I’d sort ‘em all, and sort your vertebrae, in a manner that would equally surprise and charm you.” – Mr. Venus, Articulator – from the book Our Mutual Friend by Charles Dickens Stock: Bird: Archistock http://archistock.deviantart.com/art/Creepy-Bird-77455534 / Surgeon’s stuff: Lockstock http://lockstock.deviantart.com/art/Surgeon-s-Table-01-10250561 / Hat: Peace-of-art http://peace-of-art.deviantart.com/art/Two-Top-Hats-61892310 / http://www.sxc.hu/photo/546034 My own stock: Foxstox http://foxstox.deviantart.com/art/Abandoned-Farmhouse-83028054 / textures, all else – are mine. ©2007-2008 Aimee Stewart, Foxfires
One of the first street shots I ever took back in 1964 in the East End of London. This was before Playstations, and probably the only ‘toy’ these kids shared between them was a skipping rope. Old bomb sites still held a fascination though as a form of amusement and exploration, as can be seen here. It was taken using a Yashica Mat 120 film twin lens reflex camera that took me six months to save up for. I used Tri-X B/W film and printed on a hard grade of paper to get the punchy contrast, a characteristic of all my early B/W work. This image was photographed digitally from the original print in my portfolio. © 1964 John Hooton Photography

If you couldn’t tell I like bubbles and water… I was playing around with fizzy water the other day in a tiny cup and I got this weird effect with the water. The little portion in the corner blurred mysteriously or exploded. I thought it looked cool though. I placed blue metallic paper under the glass and used my sigma 105mm macro lens and flash. Enjoy!
Infra-red, HDR, panoramic view in one of the annexes of the Kibble Palace, Glasgow Botanic Gardens. 9 images from a modified Canon G6 and processed with Photomatix and Photoshop. /
It’s a sad thing, once this window was beautiful, opened to the breezes of a summer day, with happy and loving people to view natures beauty, but now it sits Pained and Broken like the souls that once occupied this house..death came too fast and too sudden…........ Nikon D90 / 18-200mm VR Lens Old Barn with a broken window. /
I so should not have been where is was sitting to get this photograph of Lands End, UK. Within seconds of this shot being taken I was covered in spray and the grass became quite slippery around me. I did sit there for quite some time marveling at the power of the ocean, it was hypnotic. Canon 5D, 24-70mm at 70mm, f/9, 1/640 sec, ISO 250. No filters used and hand held. A small amount of dust and scratches removed in photoshop. A contrast map and hue deference in photoshop. The house sits like her heart… Empty, once full of love and life, now the halls echo with the laughter..the joy of their love, Memories of happiness are all she has. He left for work that day with a kiss to her lips, a “I love you” on his way out the door, she waved to him out the window and blew him a kiss..if she only knew that would be the last time she tasted his kiss, felt his touch, she would never have let him go..The only relief out of all this pain and heartache is he didn’t suffer, when the truck hit his car head on, he died instantly. Now she waits, unable to leave their home, not wanting to go on, knowing that he waits for her..she prays for “HER” life after death, to be in his arms again, to feel his kiss, his touch, to make this house their home for eternity, the way it should have been..but again she wakes to the emptiness of the halls, the emptiness of their bed and of her heart..she goes to the window and like a movie played over and over agiain she sees him getting into his car..she pounds on the window..yells for him to STOP!!!..to COME BACK!!!...and like every day he pulls away and disappears into thin air…leaving her again.to her pain, and their empty house. Another abandoned house, Loved the blue color of this place. Nikon D90 / 18-200 mm VR lens
Fallen leafs stuck in a window, I loved all the colors! Nikon D90 / 18-200mm VR Lens Taken in Pigeon Michigan
