This photo was taken on a trip down to Inverloch beach (Victoria, Australia)... on that day the sea and air were so quiet we were like standing still in time… Thank you so much for the plethora of comments everyone, I am glad this has touched so many people :) All proceeds from this image are donated in memory of my little boy Noah to the / Fanconi Anemia Research Fund. / Fanconi Anaemia (FA) is a rare inherited (genetic) disease, leading to progressive bone marrow failure, chromosome fragility and high cancer susceptibility. Taken on a very cold day at White Point Beach, Nova Scotia Canada. My then Fiancee now wife wrote this in the wet sand, and I took the shot. I thought this might make a nice Valentine’s Day card. This image has taken on new meaning for me now. My Mother had been in the hospital for a little over a week. We knew she was on her deathbed. She had suffered for many years with a number of serious chronic health issues, the most debilitating being COPD – a chronic lung disease which had her housebound and connected to oxygen 24-7. Well this morning (Feb. 15, 2009) she passed away peacefully. The reason this image is special to me now is that it was featured on the Homepage here on RedBubble just hours before she passed away. In my heart I feel that she had something to do with it. This was her way of telling me she loves me for one last time since this image prominently features the words “I LOVE YOU” in the sand. God Bless you, Mum! / / GET FREE REDBUBBLE GIFT CERTIFICATES / For every $50.00 worth of my artwork or T-shirts that you purchase on RedBubble, I will give you a $5.00 RedBubble gift certificate that you can use for future purchases on RedBubble. As usual, this time of year is filled with showers, squalls and all-day rain or snow. In showery weather the brief breaks are mostly worth a little trip outside with the camera. / This photo was shot on a stony beach on a late afternoon between the showers. How lucky can one be? / The other day, late from work. Seeing a potential red sky I hurried home to grab the camera and the dog, and off to the beach we went. I was there in the last moments of sunshine, amazing red light (it really was this red!). / While I was panning to shoot this scene, I was thinking that something was missing. And then these two very kind girls dressed in green suddenly emerged out of nowhere! Aperture priority programme / Spot metering / 1/125 sec. / f/4 / ISO 100 RAW capture, processed in Camera RAW and PS Elements

I have learnt sometime in the past, that due to the fact that waves aren’t moving at the exact same speed, every seventh of them is double and hence much more powerful. While I was panning this shot, one of these more powerful waves rolled in, and washed a couple of meters up where I was standing bent down with my camera low. In situations like this you must think fast, and though the water is freezing cold I guess my curiosity for having an interesting shot made me choose to ignore it. / Naturally I got wet feet. But I’m getting used to it, it happens quite often. Hope it’s worth it. Aperture priority programme / Spot metering / 1/100 sec. / f/4.5 / ISO 100 RAW capture, processed in Camera RAW and PS Elements. Beach
It seems the elves have taken it upon themselves to rearrange the plumbing in our kitchen! I’m not really sure about their new arrangement! It seems they found the liquify filter in photoshop and just went berserk!

These waters are known as a very good place for sea trout fishing. The sport fishermen are hauling one gloss silver beauty after another ashore. It’s a very cold delight, the water is close to the freezing point, and so is the air. / On a stroll down there I couldn’t resist this scene. / Wet feet? Yes, of course, but who cares? Aperture priority programme / 1/80 sec. / f/8.0 / ISO 100 / Spot metering mode Captured in RAW, processen in Camera RAW and PS Elements. Beach
