Today was a really good day to be out in the Lincolnshire countryside. Loads of dramatic skies, lots of sunshine and not too much wind. I just wish I’d had more time to spend. Days like these are a photographer’s joy.

How lucky can one be? / The other day, late from work. Seeing a potential red sky I hurried home to grab the camera and the dog, and off to the beach we went. I was there in the last moments of sunshine, amazing red light (it really was this red!). / While I was panning to shoot this scene, I was thinking that something was missing. And then these two very kind girls dressed in green suddenly emerged out of nowhere! Aperture priority programme / Spot metering / 1/125 sec. / f/4 / ISO 100 RAW capture, processed in Camera RAW and PS Elements

These are my tea glasses. / An original photograph nearly “as is”, I’ve only increased contrast/saturation very decently. / If you wonder about the strong colors: I have used a sheet of holographic paper as a background, and a torch bounced off the paper as the only light source. Inside the famous Palm House in Kew gardens. This is the largest Victorian glass house in the world. I took 3 paces inside and instantly had to take my glasses off because they steamed up, my camera took 5 minutes to acclimatise before I could use it, I was a bit worried about it, as I’m sure it says something about excessive humidity in the manual, water was dripping from the roof! lol Still, it seemed to survive the experience. As you can see… they grow exotic tropical palms in here!
