There is a lady I knew who was the strongest woman I had ever met…not only physically but emotionally as well. She wrecked buildings for a living with her husband, son and some hired men. She cooked for a large amount of people regularly. She watched two children, a husband and grandson die. She always had a welcome mat out, a hug and a cup of coffee for anyone who came to her door. I could say more about this amazing woman but there is not enough room…..She passed away one year ago…I was with her until her last breath…...I miss her often and was proud to be considered her daughter and friend. / 24×24 Oil on canvas.

... For those of you that don’t know …. this is Gladys … ” Gladys meet the kind people of Red Bubble, people … meet Gladys ” K introductions have been made. Gladys hasn’t made too many appearances over here on Red Bubble , not because she’s shy , mainly because most of her stuff was done as prints ( and alot of them not so well done by yours truly ) She is my longest running character … I believe I did her first version when I was @ 12 or so , which … makes her pretty damned old ( lemme see , I figure she was 60 or so at creation , and that was over 25 years ago , so … umm yeah … shes old …. but she’s got spunk ! ) ... This was actually from a Gladys Calendar I had done on another POD site about a year ago hence the MIss October, thought it was bout time I started bringing Miss Gladys around a bit more , which means alot of re-doing of works( big diff between how I did works a year ago and how I’m doing them now, hopefully for the better :) !
