  • I love shoes, and these are my most extravagent pair. Click these heels and you’ll dance the night away, sing karaoke and play the maracas till the wee hours of the morning…then it’s off to the cobbler to have them re-heeled and ready in time for the next weekend.

  • Another example of Painting with Light as found in Peter Zentjens’ journal. Equipment used, included torch with narrow cardboard funnel and layer of tissue paper to diffuse excess light. / time: 15 seconds / Av: f8 / ISO: 80 If you would like to purchase a card, print or canvas of this image, please visit A Gift of Art. All proceeds will be donated to charity. _ Current fundraiser: All of the proceeds for the fundraiser from May-August 2008 will be donated to the National Cancer Institute, a division of the National Institute of Health, which has provided more than 70 years of excellence in cancer research around the world._

  • This exclusive new reisdential community of Sunnyhaven Bay is situated a mere 4 miles from the bustling city centre. / Each property enjoys uninterrupted views of the bay, a private jetty perfect for mooring the weekend runabout and the local store and school are a leisurely stroll away. / If you are looking to escape the hustle and bustle of today’s busy lifestyle, then register your interest here and secure your Sunnyhaven Bay property before they’re sold out. / . / . / . / Disclaimer: Sunnyhaven Bay is a figment of my imagination and any similarities to real life hideaways or residential developments are purely coincidental. In fact, without the magic of tilt-shift, layers, textures and a warped view of the world, this shot was just a normal colour photo of one of the Central Coast’s waterways. / . / . / sigh – I can dream though, can’t I?

  • I was given a small rose bush a few years ago by a friend of mine who grows the most glorious roses. The blooms this rose produces are the heaviest I’ve seen – how the stems hold the blooms upright is beyond me. The number of petals per bloom is also incredible and I’ve been tempted to pick a bloom apart in order to count how many petals the bloom holds, but it seems a little vicious just to know such a trivial fact. How is it possible for a little bud to open into such a large, beautiful flower? Here is the little bud before it reveals it’s abundant petals. Oh, for you rose lovers, this is a David Austin rose called “Claire Rose”.

  • For these rosebuds, the promise of tomorrow is one of absolute abundance and beauty – even if it is for a short time. A few days after this was taken, the rosebud transformed into this bloom.

  • Candid photography isn’t something I feel comfortable with – I don’t know what it is about candid photography that frightens me. If I had more confidence, then I would have shot this front on, taking may different angles to shoot and get the message across. Instead, I waited until I was almost past before plucking the courage to snap just this one frame. To grow means to remove yourself from your comfort zone and try something new. To somehow disconnect yourself from your fear – whatever that fear may be.

  • This is a photo taken of a quiet lane in Pyrmont, an inner Sydney suburb. Walking through the old parts of Sydney, I don’t always see the buildings as they are today – full of colour, new bricks and glass structures surrounding them, overshadowing them – I see them as they once were. This is what I see walking through the old streets of Sydney. Here is the original image I took, before I applied my dose of nostalgia. This photo was featured in New South Wales Photography group

  • entry in the candid challenge for “conversation” taken at the recent Fifties Fair 2008, Sydney

  • I’ll be uploading a few shots from the day to make u a fifties calendar : )

  • For a current group challenge – “best treatment” – I certainly gave this a treatment and a half. ; )

  • Well, almost St Valentine’s Day and I thought I had better take advantage of these roses while they were at their best. I wanted a really white/washed out background. I used natural sunlight with white paper as a backdrop. Shutter: 1/8 sec / F3.5 / ISO 80 / Focal length: 49.6mm / manual, hand held, no cropping

  • What can I say – my latest new shoes. As high as hell, but oh so glamourous, and of course they were a bargain. Their name is “vampire” – quite appropriate really. The emotion behind this image is seen here.

  • uploaded for a challenge no, they’re not apples ;)

  • ..well, this is the excuse I’ll be using when I make a mistake from now on. After reading how this teen asked for three stars to be tattooed on her face, yet fell asleep and woke up with 56 stars on her face – I think we can all use that line as an excuse. Added for an on-the-spot mini challenge.

  • Taken on a recent hiking day out in the Blue Mountains. This effect was achieved in-camera.

  • My new canon 50D, a borrowed 10-20mm lens, lots of fog, a textured sky. Location: Three Sisters, Echo Point, Katoomba NSW, Australia For more from that day, take a look here

  • Towoon Bay is so lovely and very photogenic, especially in the afternoon. This was a 30 second exp using the Black Glass, oh and a new remote shutter – how handy! I must say, this whole Black Glass photography, despite what some critics may say (and I don’t know what they’d say) is very handy when you want to do more than one thing at once. I mean, you can press the shutter, take a sip of wine, chat with friends and have a nibble on some cheese and crackers and hey presto! 30 seconds later, you’re ready to fire off another shot. I knew there was a reason why I likes this technique!

  • I’ve been very fortunate to be given the opportunity to play with a Lensbaby 2.0 – I think I’m in love.

  • Went along to the Fifties Fair at Rose Seidler’s House yesterday with Cordelia and met up with Tatiana and Peter. The Fair gets busier with each passing year, and the glorious Sydney day certainly boosted numbers, it was literally standing room only. Wanting to keep my camera gear to a minimum, I took along the 50mm lens as well as the lensbaby. The lensbaby had a lovely time in my vintage handbag, while the 50mm worked overtime. (50mm; 1/640; f1.8; ISO 200 ) Also available in Calendar format: /

  • I think of nothing but you. Yes, that’s right. You. I think of only you. But only sometimes. /

  • ~ quote by Dr Seuss ~ It’s been far too hot to go outside these past couple of days, so I’ve been working on improving my patience skills indoors instead. Once again, I used the +10 macro filter for this. I’d be keen to know what you think. :)
