Stormy Church 02 In sepia.. With a few adjustments, adjusted light, colour, contrast,.adaptive lighting & cropped slightly – taken in a small village in Cambridgeshire 2007
Taken on a very cold day at White Point Beach, Nova Scotia Canada. My then Fiancee now wife wrote this in the wet sand, and I took the shot. I thought this might make a nice Valentine’s Day card. This image has taken on new meaning for me now. My Mother had been in the hospital for a little over a week. We knew she was on her deathbed. She had suffered for many years with a number of serious chronic health issues, the most debilitating being COPD – a chronic lung disease which had her housebound and connected to oxygen 24-7. Well this morning (Feb. 15, 2009) she passed away peacefully. The reason this image is special to me now is that it was featured on the Homepage here on RedBubble just hours before she passed away. In my heart I feel that she had something to do with it. This was her way of telling me she loves me for one last time since this image prominently features the words “I LOVE YOU” in the sand. As usual, this time of year is filled with showers, squalls and all-day rain or snow. This image was created in Photoshop starting from a photo I took of a friend playing a guitar. Using multiple layers I created the background starting with a color filled layer. I created the whirlpool effect by adding clouds and then applying various filters. Duplicating the layer and selecting and removing a color from the layer I was able to then apply various layer styles including bevel and emboss. Various filters were applied to the guitar and hand image as well. / / To me this image symbolizes the ability of music to help you get through all the turmoils of life. / / “Purple Haze” is available in all print formats offered by Red Bubble / / Buying “Purple Haze” as a gift? Saturday morning, the weather very nice with sunshine and no winds at all. At this time of year this is very rare, and usually opens possibilities for mist. / I arrived at the forest, there was not another soul in sight. This is an image of my brother-in-law’s dog, Buzz, blended into a sunset over Long Cove only about a half a mile away from his home in West Pennant, Nova Scotia, Canada. This was taken at Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire, where the mill is in the image is a small village called Godmanchester.. Took quite a while to do this but im pretty happy with how it turned out so was well worth the effort :-)
Today was a really good day to be out in the Leicestershire countryside. Loads of dramatic skies, lots of sunshine and not too much wind. I just wish I’d had more time to spend. Days like these are a photographer’s joy.
This is a view across the wolds in Leicestershire looking towards the sleepy little village of Croxton. 10 minutes later I was in the middle of a snow storm, and 20 minutes after that I was back in my car heading for home, by the time I drove through Croxton the snow had stopped and the skies were clear again!

Amazing how much it changes the view looking through glass. I liked this shot because the sharp edges of the break on the galss are in contrast to the peaceful landscape I see when I look out of our window. it’s like real life….. there are sharp edges, broken things – and a lot of beauty, all at the same time. I took about 170 pictures of this glass, on one sunny morning the day after the glass broke…. and in the end the ‘best’ one was the very first picture I took. As I am here to learn, I’d appreciate any comments which help me to improve. May I invite you to take the time to express your thoughts…. don’t worry about what you think I want to hear. Thank you! Heide
