My mother was a big woman .totally opposite to me and my dad….she weighed in at 28 stone, along with her six brothers and two sisters. When we went to the beach for the day the crowds never phased us…....... / “Over here Charlie!!” she’d call out to the old man ” these people’ll make room…..................won’t you love?”.......... As if they had a choice ….. / People scattered out of her way as she hit the sand …...she was like a big walrus, the beachmaster, settling in for the day…..then, normally …....she’d break wind / ....Nobody ever refused to move!!

Traditional Asian art really inspires me-its delicate portrayal of nature. This is what I tried to do with this digital photograph of a tree with its roots showing, and I think the end result is a kind of ode to art of the ancient Eastern times.

there was actually a concept behind this. it was day 320 of my “flickr.com 365days self portrait project”, it was a wednesday, and the week felt like it was taking an eternity. it was a “gift” for my flickr friends. the title was actually “this is for you, you’re gonna need it”. this one will end up on my kitchen wall, and probably as greeting cards. just a kind of “hello” to friends i’ve fallen out of touch with, or to ask someone for lunch, coffee, etc.

I wanted to bring out the roughness of the male and the softness of the female, I wanted to bring out the intensity of this shot the passion the heat.

I did a thanksgiving based miniature origami pic before. But truth told I’m not really happy with it; at the time it was the day before thanksgiving in Canada. But I’ve realized that it has not passed yet in the US so I decided to do a new one :) The turkey (which is really my origami chicken with my peacock tail features), along with the pumpkin were folded from 15×15mm pieces of papers. The basket was folded from a 3×3cm piece of paper (I have folded one from a 15×15mm piece before but it would have been to small for this concept). For a better idea of scale:
