A young, very photogenic hill-tribe girl in Sapa, Vietnam.

A little girl and her day-to-day chore of collecting sticks and wood. I presume to be used for fire wood. This scene was captured about 1km walk from the mountain town of Sapa in northern Vietnam.

This little Bishnoi girl was photographed in a village about 100km outside Jodhpur, India.

This little girl had the most striking eyes I’ve ever seen. ‘Meenakshi’ means ‘one who has fish-like eyes’: Meena (fish) + Akshi (eyes). The photo was taken on New Year’s Eve at Varkala Beach, Kerala, India. There were many Indian people on the beach and I went over to ‘hang out’ with them. This girl’s elderly grandmother asked me if I would take a photo of her grand daughter – I happily obliged!! I showed her the photo on the back of the digital camera, and suddenly I had 20 or 30 Indian women surrounding me wanting to look at the photo. The nicest thing then happened – when they saw the photo, they all wanted to touch my arm. It was my most memorable experience during the whole 6 weeks.

This little girls mother was sitting on the pavement, just out of the frame. The girl stood there for ages just taking everything in. I guess this is her life and she may never know any different.

Cusco, Peru’ ! / While walking in Cusco a few days ago I met this little girl, Flor, and her sister Yolanda ! I had already taken a picture of them last year ” Flor y Yolanda ” and when I showed them a copy of the photo.. they were so impressed that they asked me to take more pictures. This is just one of the many I took ! She is so confident and loves to be photographed !!! I love this picture for the way she poses here, the way she smiles, her spontaneity.. and the beautiful contrast of colors !!!

A young Ecuadorian girl is carrying her baby brother on her back. This is one of my favourite shots taken on black and white film and taken in St Mark’s Square in Venice, Italy. I have scanned the print. I like the timelessness of this shot, I think. She was surrounded by the pigeons at first and she didn’t mind. But later, one flew on her head and she minded a lot. I recently made a sale on redbubble with this shot. A matted print in Off White to Lucy, my sister-in-law, in the UK. Many thanks so much for purchasing this. This shot was featured in the Urban Art Group and the I love Italy Group.

I was born in Northern Ireland and now live in London. I have been a missionary now for 15 years. When We first met Susan on a mission to a rural village in April 2007, she was in the later stages of death. her body was infested with intestinal worms. medicines would not work. I prayed for her in the village, along with two other mission volunteers. We left to continue our journey. But God spoke to me, and We returned that evening and put her in our old battered vehicle and brought her to our mission centre. We continued to pray and command death to leave her alone. 5 days later and God completely healed her. Now as you see, Susan is completely healed. She shares her testimony with us on missions into other villages and many have also received healing and hope. Praise God! Please help us to continue to reach others in need and extreme poverty.
