  • I put the phrase on the top and bottom of the picture to show how much some people can get involved in music, letting it take over their lives and actions. like when something bad happens on the news, and they use music or musicians to put the blame on… i guess it was kinda my answer to that. The pose of the woman was based on patricia from the horrorpops – one of my fav bands. if you look on the cover of their album ‘hell yea’ then you can see where the inspiration came from. —-—-—-——- Thank You For Viewing / Original By Emma Black / Do Not Use Without Permission

  • A young Pwo Karen girl in Northern Thailand smokes her tobacco pie while looking after her younger sister. In the 1980s it was common for the children of some hilltribes to smoke rough homegrown tobacco and chew betel. As schools were established the practice has died out. This candid shot was taken in the early 1980s with a nikon FM2, 135mm lense and kodachrome slide film.

  • For our final school exhibit we were given the theme “My Space”. I decided to make it “My Space Inavsion” for my personal theme. I then took portrait shots of all the people who have invaded my space both positively and negatively. They are then displayed in a space along with and empty bird cage with its door open, a body cast with the freed bird on its finger and then the portraits (A4) all displayed around the space individually. Then the idea is that when you enter the space to view the exhibit, you invade my space with your presence. It also goes that my art, is my space, it frees my spirit ( like the bird) and allows me to be me in my space… These aren’t all the portraits as there are over 30 potraits and the collage would be weird with all of them. The extent of your consciousness is limited only by your ability to love and to embrace with your love the space around you, and all it contains. Napoleon Bonaparte Featured In Collective Collage

  • Sorry to upload another from my memory series. I am afraid over the next few days I shall be adding more as from next week I shall have little time to participate on redbubble as my course starts again. I am doing a course on alternative printing so hopefully will have something to upload. I apologise to for not being able to comment as much as I would like. I wasn’t going to say much about this image but I thought I would just paste in the reply I gave to Matt’s comment about it: A couple of weeks ago I went to my daughters school for a meeting – at the same time she had come out for playtime – I was watching her and witnessed a group of girls that kept running away from her – leaving her standing alone – in the end she stood there crying. I left the office and went outside to pick her up and comfort her – it was only then that the teacher noticed. When I was looking through my negs this afternoon I saw this one and it made me think of it .. There is an anti-bullying day at her school on friday .. they all have to wear blue .. i hope things improve but it does seem, sadly that the playground hasn’t changed that much. So yes, this is exactly what I was aiming for.
