Beauty in everything, seen and unseen. / For me, the hidden beauty of this image is the beauty of capturing the moment… a scene caught in my eye, a quick reach for the camera and a moment caught for ever. / This was infact a candid moment of Claire caught recently on our vacation and road trip come extended photo shoot through British Columbia, Canada. / On a cold and wet morning in Tofino, Vancouver Island, we had just had a dissapointing morning, getting up before the sun to capture sunrise, we found to our dismay our tripods locked in our car, car keys with the owner of the hostel, who would not be about untill 07:30… Like die hards we pressed on, trying with not much success to take pictures by propping up our cameras on rocks and towels. In the freezing cold and rain we soon gave up and returned to the hostel for breakfast… This shot was caught, just before we were about to head out once more… with early mornings and long days catching up with us, it was all we could do to catch 5 minutes in a chair. / We are hoping to put together a photographic journal of our “Redbubble meet” and trip with some more candid moments and breathtaking scenery so we hope you will enjoy… who says Redbubble meets can’t be international!

My daughter was very interested in the display at The Forbidden Planet – a comic book store on Broadway just south of Union Square in Manhattan. If you are ever in the area and a fan of all things comic…you must stop in! :)

Girl looking into the pond at the Japanese Gardens, Penticton BC Canada…..taken yesterday on my lunch break. I think this one definitely needs to be viewed larger.

Chrome and highly polished metal are a simple lodestone for photographers. This beautifully maintained MG was parked under Princes Bridge a few months ago and the afternoon sunlight was just perfect for a tight frame showing the distinctive grille, lights and bumper bars. I was also intrigued by the way the light shimmied across sections of the hand-crafted metal, creating reflections of different intensity. I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my work in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F6.7, 1/180 sec, ISO 200, focal length 75mm. Featured in UNIVERSAL INNOVATION, August 2009. Featured in 60s GLORY, November 2009. In this work I tried to capture the reflective shadows in the eyes and create as much detail as possible without adding too much…white cartridge paper.
