  • This is a mod I made of my daughter using Photoshop CS2 and Photo Booth. This is my spin on what our mothers used to tell us (don’t make faces or it might stay that way)...lol

  • My other daughter for a change – this is Sarah – AKA InTheMaking For this shot – the title came first [one night in a dream]. So, it was scruffy jeans and trainers, and old tiles on the bottom half. For this I pulled back the carpet to expose the bare tiles underneath and placed some old plasterboard against the wall under the window. We made some tears in a pair of Sarah’s jeans and rubbed some dirt into her trainers. The top half needed to be glitz [items of costume jewellery and my wedding ring], jewels and a red carpet – the wine, well that is just cold tea . I used normal household lighting and just pointed the lampshade in her direction with a soft pearly bulb at 40W. I wanted mono [for rags] and colour [for riches] in the shot, which I achieved in photoshop post production, but not just straight forward selective colouring – it had to graduate in intensity from left to right to get it correct with the perspective I used for the shot. Hope you like it – Sarah will be watching your reponses with a keen eye no doubt.

  • Special closeout sale LARGE canvas print for sale $124.99 Buy it here ThomasDodd.com/Store All of the elements of this photomanipulation were photographed in my studio and asembled in Adobe Photoshop. / The model portraying Pandora is one of my mainstays – Laurie Love (who is also “Alice” in my Wonderland series) She can also be seen in this picture as the portrait hanging on the wall. / The model for the “evil” spirits is 17 year old Israeli beauty Shelly Haggig… / The Pandora myth always fascinated me as a child (and still does today) being that it can be interpreted on so many levels. Perhaps it is meant to be a cautionary tale of how some things should not be meddled with or consequently – the importance of following directions. / I like to think however, that she represents the endless inquisitive spirit of humankind and that with every innovation and step forward , there can be negative consequences unleashed. However, in order for us to evolve and grow as human beings – we must face our inner demons and banish them…Only then can we truly evolve… and of course, the last words of the tale are: / “And then there was Hope!”

  • Thanks to the lovely Lori Dennis for the wonderful Stock. / / “When all was over at the cemetery Charles returned to the house. There was no one downstairs. He went up into the bedroom and saw her dress hanging up at the foot of the bed. Then, leaning against the secretaire, he remained there till it was dark, lost in sorrowful meditation. After all, she had loved him.” / - Gustave Flaubert, Madame Bovary, Ch. 2

  • I created this gorgeous image using 2 different photographs both taken by me. The water lilly was taken at a property in Wingham NSW and the photo of my gorgeous daughter Amara was taken in Taree. I used layers in photoshop to create the image. Both images were taken on my Canon 450D SLR.

  • Fictional digital painting made with Photoshop. / Full view please Dear little doll series… / POLLY / EUGENIA / MUFFIE / VALERIE / TIFFANY Since this is my first attemp to paint digitaly I thought to share with you that I’m feelng a little weird … huh… correction: I’m feeling very weird. For accuracy, I feel like one of my characters – my eyes are wide open (out of anticipation for what will happen next); my brows draw together and my mouth is stretch horizontally (laughs). It’s like the fist time I did upload my first painting, excactly one year back. It’s a very big suprise to me. I’d never thought that I will ever paint digitally – really, it just came suddenly before 2 … I don’t quite remember exact maybe 3 nights. Anyway, I felt that I need a “break” from my beloved brushes, paints and canvases. The most imporant, I want to clear my mind a bit from the Halloween series calendar cause I’d hated to make something that it won’t be inspired and absolute authentic from me. So it may be ready far long after Halloween… laughs… maybe it will be ready in Christmas time xxx Back to that night ➪ Of course I ended up to make my office like a bombed place with charcoals, pastels… Water and ink running below my keyboard and on the floor… just imagine. / / The good from all this destruction is a little face I did, a totally scarp face but I did love it from the first moment ♥ (and it looks like me too :) So much that I couldn’t leave it in the mess that was! Here you can see it: / ☯ So concluding, all the dollies of this series are based in this little one scrap face, always in the same position but each one of them has a different personality. All the names of the dollies are names from existing famous dolls. Ok I will stop talking now, / I’m leaving you view my work and I really hope you like it.
