  • This is a “Reduction Woodcut Print”, so its taken me lots of cutting of the wood to get it to this point. Printing over the top of the print about three times. This is the final result today. 223 Views on 30/11/09 I am in the process of downloading the wood that I cut this print out of so you can get an idea on how it works. / First you cut into the wood, keep printing what you have, then see where you need to cut more. It has taken me three weeks and three sessions in the print room to get to this point. This is one of about 20 prints, all of them individual and slightly different then the other. Thanks for looking…Billy !

  • 100% OF ALL PROCEEDS FROM SALES OF MY ART, DONATED ART AND DONATIONS MADE VIA OUR MISSION WEBSITE, GOES TO PHILADELPHIA MISSION, A REGISTERED CHARITY. WE WORK WITH EXTREME POOR SICK AND DISABLED IN ISOLATED AND RURAL AFRICAN VILLAGES. I invite all to Please visit Philadelphia Mission Africa Charity website: / http://www.philadelphia33.org/ This is Violet aged 15 years old. She works in the fields from sunrise to sunset. Her Parents are dead. Violet works the small plot of land hoping to grow enough food for herself, her three younger brothers and sick Grandfather. Violet has a disability caused by Rickets. This disease is common here. Her upper and lower limbs are bowed outwards. This can be completely eradicated with your help. Violet must force herself to work, or her dependants will starve. Please help us to help her and many more like her. This poem was beautifully written by a very talented poet and Writer called Adgray, here on RB. God Bless you for wring this fitting piece . DOES SHE DREAM. / Does she dream of dancing and movies and fun / this girl with the faraway eyes / Has she the wish to kiss Brad Pit / Did she cry when Heath Ledger died? / What does she wish for when Christmas comes? / an ipod or mobile phone? / Does she complain there’s no chocolate again / in the fridge when she gets home. We complain we don’t have enough to survive / Money to cover our bills / and purchase the service and goods we desire / AND the luxury home in the hills / But where does it say life must be this way / That we have and she has not / That our world be of greed luxury and games / and hers of pain and hard lot. I look in the depths of these faraway eyes / and I think of my own teenage life / How I struggled with that I was expected to do / and rebelliously got into strife / I look at my own daughter of fifteen years / And know how I fiercely protect her / I support all her learnings and all her dreams / and use all my wisdom to guide her. But they are similar these girls far apart / for my daughter also cares for her home / She looks out for her younger siblings as well / and is rarely allowed to roam. And I wonder if having is really a curse / for to have not enough creates stress / equal to that of not enough food / but granted the consequence is less I shall show all my children these faraway eyes / for this girl is also one of their peers / their ages are similar their wants must compare / how I long to abate all her tears / I cannot succeed in my western world life / I struggle myself to survive / But oh how I wish I could lavish life’s gifts / On those beckoning faraway eyes. • PLEASE READ THIS. [Taken in natural light] My name is Evangelist Trevor and I am an Irish missionary and Founder Chairman of Philadelphia Mission a UK Charity, working with extreme poor in Africa And India. Rujul is a an Indian gypsy girl I met when I was in Kallaporum gypsy camp. Rujul aged 12 years old looks like a healthy normal young girl from a family that has enough money to look after her. Yet her beautiful looks will deceive most people. She has no family, except her grandmother. Her parents and his younger sister are dead. She has never went to school, and as I talked with her her body was twitching and her speech was incoherent. She is a very sick girl. Years of poverty, lack of nutritious food and the mental scars of being rejected and treated as an outcast has paid a tool on Rujul. Under Hindu religion Indian gypsies are at the bottom of the caste system. Often they are denied medical care. Rujul lives in Kallaporum Gypsy camp with approx 940 others. They have No electricity, No water, No sanitation, No where to grow food, and they cannot fish the nearby river because they cannot afford the Fishing contract fees demanded by the India fisheries. We counted only 28 children that had school uniforms. Almost all children cannot go to school because the family cannot afford the £70-$125 needed for school fees, uniform, and text books. Most Gypsies live on less than a dollar per day. The death rate here is high among young children and mothers during childbirth. My passion and commitment in life is to help as many children in extreme poverty as possible. The UN definition of extreme poverty is those living on less than a dollar per day. We need you to help us help these precious children. We are doing what we can with what we have, but it is not enough. ALL MONEY RAISED FROM SALE OF MY ART, DONATED ART AND DONATIONS MADE VIA OUR CHARITY WEBSITE, GOES TO HELP THESE PRECIOUS CHILDREN. WE TAKE NOTHING OUT OF WHAT YOU GIVE TOWARDS CHARITY OVERHEADS. WE ARE NOT SALARIED AND COVER OUR OWN TRAVEL EXPENSES. SO ALL THAT YOU GIVE GOES TO THESE CHILDREN / To make a donation, or find out more, Please visit our Charity Mission website: http://www.philadelphia33.org/ See 4 DVD clips of our work in Africa And India.“http://www.youtube.com//PhiladelphiaMission”:http://www.youtube.com//PhiladelphiaMission Camera: Canon EOS400D.
