Dolly Broke / Dolly Broke is available as a framed print, canvas print, poster, laminated print and card. / Dolly Broke has been a popular seller as framed wall art print and as a card not only for a Nursery but for adults and the memories it evokes. The little doll in this picture is much like my first Christmas doll. / When I opened the box she had beautiful, long locks, a gorgeous dress but I was never a dolly girl and within an hour of being given her, I had chopped her hair off, ripped her clothes off and painted her / ....... Perhaps I was a little peeved not getting more paints and coloured pencils and books for Christmas. Dad never said anything….but I remember he was very quiet and she was the first and last doll I got for Christmas ..lol! Lainers the Happy Lil Dead Girl by Paul Rees-Jones She floats around the light, / That shining orb so bright. She knows its ringing call, / But doesn’t want it at all. Skin so white, cheeks pink and red, / Content in being the living dead. Her friends are cold, just like her, / Living and playing, just like they were. And oh the joy of pranks and scares, / To those who trespass without cares. Moaning and groaning like a ghost, / Is something she like the most. Flying free, spinning in a whirl, / Lainers the happy lil dead girl.

Sweet Annabelle by Paul Rees-Jones A little girl, not exactly alive, / Wandering around in her own way. / A little girl, not exactly warm, / Looking for some ghoulish play. She calls to her friends… / “Let’s play Hide and Bleak!” / Her friends say no, / Cause she never seeks. She calls to her friends… / “Let’s play sticks and stones!” / her friends say no / Cause she loves breaking bones. She calls to her friends… / “Let’s play tie you up tag!” / Her friends say no, / One always leaves in a body bag. She sighs and wails, / As only she can. / And ponders her plight, / And ponders a plan. She knows she can be / A bit of a sweet pain / But her friends should love her / All the same. So if they don’t / Come out to play. / She go get them / And they’ll rule the day. Sweet Annabelle…

Check it out here! * / Frankie and Temperance by Paul Rees-Jones Frankie was made in a hurry, in the lab, / Brought to life on a cold electric slab. He was given a body with all of the parts, / And was given an oversized heart. From the moment he saw her , she was his deliverence, / That dead Lil Zombie, the cute and lovely Temperance. He swooned and swayed, thought he’d pop a stitch, / Whenever around her, his voice lost it’s pitch. He planned and tried so often to say, / The words in his heart every day. Now if he knew how Temperance felt for him, / He wouldn’t have worry, nor feel so grim. Cause when she looked at him with her good eye, / Inside her cold heart was a loving sweet sigh. So there they are these sweet Lil dears, / All thats stopping their love is their silly fears.

Thank you Molly the Lil Witch, A Heidi for Oscar by Paul Rees-Jones Well You have heard the tale of Molly the witch, / And the doll folk she made in a pinch. The story doesn’t end quite there, / Cause Oscar needed someone fair. Molly’s heart went out to her lovesick little man, / She asked Oscar to put some stuffing in her hand. She used it to make a wonderful girl, / With a cute smile and hair without curls. She called her Heidi and Oscar just stared, / Molly could see how much he cared. Ophelia, was not too impressed / To her this girl was a complete mess. Already she saw her brother’s love show, / Unfortunately for Heidi, she had to go. Ophelia worked out 22 tries, / knowing one would spell that Heidi’s demise. and so we shall wait and see what transpires, / As Ophelia prepares balloons, pits, spikes, and fires.
My fav, Tullulah….drawn by hand and scanned. / hmmmm that’s it really.

Inspired by Edgar Allan Poe ~ The Raven ~ 1845 Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary, / Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore, / While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, / As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door. / `’Tis some visitor,’ I muttered, `tapping at my chamber door - / Only this, and nothing more.’

oil on canvas / super fast painting. I would like to consider this more on the abstract expressionism side. I usually paint with more detail and so may I’ll go back at a later time when it drys and add some more depth. myspace.com/artistmind
