a very passionate sea change, Gold Coast resident since 1967 In 1966 we and two small children,one smallish black poodle ,packed some clothes into a suitcase, put the dog into a cardboard dog box, walked out of our freezing cold house in Victoria,leaving furniture , house and car behind, told no-one and caught the 7.pm train to Queensland,bound for our sea change life No regrets. Photo of a painting I did for a competition it just wasn’t going the way I wanted it too ,so I photographed the canvas work,put it into Microsoft photo Editor then into Photoshop ,polarised it . I won the acquisitive prize. / If you look carefully you can see the skyscrapers of Surfers Paradise below the rainforest of Tamborine Mountain. This particular work is hanging in the St Bernards Hotel lounge at Tamborine Mountain. / /

From an original acrylic painting Dancing on the Falls #1 inspired by my passion for dance of every genre and the Semi Tropical colourful rainforest and waterfalls which surounds the South East Queensland were I live, / This is a favourite them in my art works. I used to paint with fabric paint onto clothing for 20 years and a forerunner of these dancing girls were amongst my very first order.So, to me it’s very exciting and almost unbeleivable how the world has changed from hours of very exacting hands work on tees to be able to do a manipulation for redbubble tee shirts /

A Wooden Bridge which goes through one of the rain forest gullies of the Dandenong Ranges in Victoria and supports the tracks for Puffing Billy the small steam train that runs from Belgrave to Gembrook It used to be used for many years for carrying freight [produce] and passenges. It is used now as a tourist attraction. / I was brought up and went to school in the Dandenongs

I was looking at / JimCaldwells“ / photo in his files of an outhouse [toilet ]we Aussies mentioned we [impolitely ]called them Dunnies I just did a watercolour sketch to go with the words.. OUTSIDE DUNNY I have to go Defiantly have to Outside in the black Down the ramp that runs from the back door from the house. The light shines to the end of the ramp, after that, blackness I can make out the white narrow concrete path Past the shed, running now, past the doorway with the dark opening, maybe in there? Then the wood pile, maybe it’s lurking there, maybe in the shed Maybe in the dunny, it’s dark I know it’s clean, no spiders are allowed to live here She sees to that, cleanliness is most important Not the eyes of a frightened child. / Watercolour on Arches A4 size medium

These colourful birds inhabit mainly forested areas, but will often live close to suburban areas as a source of food. The parrots are usually around 40 to 45 cms in length (which includes a 20cm tail). The male king parrot sports a brilliant red breast and head, black tail and dark green body. The female has a dullish green head and body with a dullish red underbelly. They are found along the coastal areas of Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. / / A King Parrot will feed on fruits, seeds or small insects. Birds close to suburban areas may feed on food crumbs and scraps. It is important not to feed King Parrots any leftovers, as their diet is much different to that of humans. King Parrots living close to suburbia have become quite domesticated, and whilst being cautious, are not afraid of human contact. King Parrots will often perch on an outstretched arm to feed on bird seed from an open palm. The King Parrot breeds September through January. King Parrots will often travel together in small parties. King Parrots are large birds and in our (australianfauna.com) opinion, not suitable for captivity. However, these birds are often kept as pets here in Australia in less than ample enclosures.
