laura lets me photograph her-what a good sport. after a loud n proud gig. we had such a good time!
Zakk Wylde – Black Label Society – live in concert – Melbourne Australia.
As it says. They played a blinder despite the audience being thin on the ground. Mallorcans are not the biggest ticket buyers in the world, in fact there is so much on for free that they feel they need not bother. Pity it was a great Gig and after 44 years or thereabouts together colloborations with everybody and anybody including Van Morrison and the Stones the Chieftains are still putting their enthusiasm into every gig. 007 in a series “The Chieftains” all marked up at 25% except this stage shot which is 50%
Left the shutter open to capture movement of the drummer(matt) and got an interesting result with the light bouncing off the hi hats. and crash cymbals
Down tools…time for a break. Musos take time out between sets at the local Winsome gig. The instruments look bored…
Nick Garbett from the Vampires…a dubb jazz band from Sydney. Ballina Hotel gig…16.02.08
When he plays, watch out for his face cos it gets mean! Thankfully Matt Smith isn’t mean, just a wicked guitar player. Playing in Jim Kelly’s Motown line-up @ The Winsome Pub 18.09.07
I don’t laugh a lot, really. I laugh sorta loud and it annoys insecure people around me who always believe if they hear laughter, someone just HAS to be laughing at them. Like, wow. How important do they think they are, anyway? LOLOLOLOL! But I do laugh and I wind up laughing at gigs because people know I can’t help it. Generally, it doesn’t mess up my playing too much; I rarely know what I’m doing anyway. And at 23 notes per second, nobody else can tell what I’m doing either. :-D So, they pick on me: yelling really dumb stuff; making me forget changes in songs; causing me to sometimes pull my rear off the floor thru the middle of one of my rather fast solos. Brats all! I can’t remember why I was laughing here but someone caught it with my camera. Oh lucky me! Aside ~~ This was the same faire, different year, where the “Bunk Boobs” were happening, I got close-ups with alpacas, goats, and horses, and a most unusual afterparty happened… Ah, memories. :-)
If you squint just right you can make out the overall subject in most good pointillism. I think I got this one right but I’m sure you’ll let me know if I bombed it. After all, letting me know I bombed something is rather fun, isn’t it? YOU BRATS! Editing programs used were Corel PaintShop Pro XI and Adobe PhotoShop Elements.
Featured in: / ‘Electronica / Dance Event; amp Culture’ with many thanks. / Queen live in Cardiff October 2008 Queen live and fantastic, Cardiff October ‘08. Really pleased to have captured Brian May so closely – with my SLR raised up above my head and managing to keep it still! (Canon EOS 400D 18-55mm lens).
Taikoz played in little ol’ Lismore last night to a noisily appreciative audience. My second time seeing this troupe and they just get better…awesome drumming interlaced with percussion, shakuhachi, movement and a touch of comedy. Last night’s performance also featured marimba and djembe. They’re headed for Brisbane next week, so catch them if you can. Taken using Nikon D80 & 105mm f2.8 /
This photo was captured in the 2004 during a live gig of Robin Proper-Sheppard extemporary band currently known as Sophia. My CD player randomly picked up a Sophia’s song name from the album Fixed Water and I assigned it to each photo as the title.

New Orleans Blues Guitarist / Bourbon Street Festival – Sao Paulo, Brazil One of my last nights in Brazil! It was an amazing night at a blues festival in Sao Paulo. / This was from a blues jam session at the end of the night. Great guitarist from New Orleans… He wasn’t part of any of the bands that night, so unfortunately didn’t catch his name…..
