Here is a lovely Christmas present for you, all wrapped up with pretty red ribbon. Actually it began life as another out of focus (no flash) photo of the municipal Christmas tree at the St. Pete Pier. It had such a wonderful abstract feel to it straight off the camera, that I though just a little sharpening and contrast enhancement would be enough. But then … Then it inspired me to gift wrap it for you to go under you tree, on your wall, or in the mail as a cheerful greeting. Digital photo shot with an HP Photosmart R818, without flash.

This was created from a photograph of a barberry bush with the afternoon sun coming through its leaves. You can view the photo and details of the pattern in my blog entry on this pattern. Each of the pieces of the pattern has a reflection of itself on every edge, so it seems continuous throughout, but not all the pieces are the same shape, which keeps it from being too repetitive. There are areas with 16, 12, and 8 sides, with transitional elements in between to connect them up. I hope to interest someone in making gift wrap from patterns like this some day.
I was looking for a row of giftwrapped packages, the shape of the packages is dictated by the t-shirt colour
After wrapping, before they all went under the tree, I concluded the multi-colored giftwrap and bows would make a good holiday shot. It makes an interesting Christmas themed abstract or patterned background.
FE Polinomial C(ZZ)+P1 formula I have been informed that Christmas is 6 weeks away, so here we go with a gift wrapped fractal.
Merry Christmas, everyone, and enjoy the holidays!
Digital print done in Adobe Photoshop, could be used as a Greeting Card, Gift Wrap or Print.
I will giftwrap my heart and send it flying to you over seas and mountains with the butterflies and birds and the paper aeroplanes I’m not a fan of Valentines Day…which is why I didn’t submit this yesterday. It’s actually my parents’ 20somethingth wedding anniversary in a couple of days, and since i cant afford presents, they’ll have to make do with a picture…. I honestly don’t think they’ll like it tho! :S oh well, at least i enjoyed making it. most relaxing piece I’ve done in a LONG time, experimenting with any drawing materials lying around nearby (and i love LOVE this paper! it remains perfectly smooth even after my abusive treatment of it =D) cretacolor watercolour pencils / watercolour / indian ink / gouache / pastel 23cm x 50cm “Minerva” mixed media paper <3> / weird format, but im cool with it
Will you accept this gift from me? Will you cherish it forever and always keep it close to your heart? I have nothing left to offer but this gift. This one last gift. Tied off with a pretty bow and set aside. Just for you. I want nothing in return but a smile on your face when you tear open the neat wrapping. I hope you like it. :)

Using Golden Digital Ground I’ve been experimenting with printing ink jet photographs on holographic gift wrap. I haven’t been able to scan and capture the amazing light play from the reflecting paper. It is always too dark or too much. Tonight I recorded a video and it shows the amazing way the light works. Two coats is best when using the digital ground, and I recommend taping all edges down to the carrier sheet. Sometimes the paper will curl as it dries and it’s difficult to flatten out. My other journal entry Printing on Aluminium foil shows my original experiments. The original image is /
