  • The Gift

    Even the strongest in faith is never more than one step away…

    I wrote this a few years ago after a woman I hardly knew came up to me in church, and began to share her anguish with me. It seemed she was in the process of divorcing her husband, it was only then that I realized why she had chosen me. She knew I had gone through the same thing the year before, and somehow felt safe that I would not look down on her. Hence the inspiration for the poem.
