  • I spent hours with these amazing Birds in south Africa , i spent more time looking at them than taking photos , they are truly amazing birds.

  • December… last month of the year, so perhaps a comment on how my year has been. I think the picture and title say it all really… and couldn’t be more true for how I feel these days.

  • This cheeky pop art greeting card is perfect for anniversaries and engagements.

  • I’m personally not a fan of Valentines Day as I don’t feel I need one day in the year to show love, but what I do love and appreciate is the simple things. I don’t like extravagant presents or gestures, I much prefer a simple daisy picked from a field and a hand written love note.. I think these simple gestures are slowly being lost in the commercialism. Anyway, This is my interpretation of simple love…..

  • / / Framed Print Sweet Rosie / made from paper, pencils, charcoal, marker pen and stuff like that :) Here is a new one from my “Connections” series, all done with lots of dry media. This one is about the connection we have with our loved ones, roses always speak volumes about beauty, love, romance…......and wanting to connect…...what happens we we give and receive roses, why do we give and receive them…..it’s really sentimental stuff…..ahh where would we be without all that roses say for us, through us, about us, to others :) I hope you like my “Sweet Rosie”.....these roses are for you :)

  • A little tattered round the edges, but still strong at heart, and beautiful. This image reminded me of what Enobarbus said of the ageing Cleopatra in Shakespeare’s play: ‘Age cannot wither her, nor custom stale / Her infinite variety.’ / William Shakespeare, “Antony and Cleopatra”, Act 2 scene 2 Canon EOS 450D, 18-55mm lens Processed with Dynamic-Photo HDR and PhotoImpact.

  • My origami calendar The red string of fate is based on a Chinese myth that the gods tie an invisible red string around the ankles of men and women destined to be soulmates. This myth is has been adapted into other east asian cultures as well. I first became familiar with it by watching anime; though in those cases, one would attempt to match up couples by tying their fingers. This image, while on one hand based on that Chinese legend, is one that defines me. With the red thread forming the heart, I frame what is currently my greatest passion: miniature origami. I fold using tweezers, and sometimes with needles (I show a needle here, though for these hearts I only used tweezers as they are not that small). The hearts of paper and string, while representing my passion, also represent my soul, and how my fate is bound by the constraints of life. I’m in my own little world bound by a thread of fate; though my passion lies in a world of paper. While most women primarily use needles for sowing; I primarily use them for tiny origami :P I would adjust the position of the objects here with tweezers, and sometimes got magnetic reactions between the tweezers and the needle. They say opposites attrack… but they are both metal :] Each heart was folded from a 15×15mm piece of paper. For a better idea of scale: This work has been featured in: / Macro Photography / Inspired Art / All About Hearts / Color Me a Rainbow
