Eilean Donan Castle one of the Iconic Scottish Castles was just a magic place to visit and photograph. I spent close to 9 hours taking in the surrounds, the atmosphere and the serenity and of course the odd photo or two. Here is one of my favourites, I really like the balance of light and the reflections. This was the 3rd last photo I took during this 9 hour period, and goes to show that patience can pay off. All money raised with the sale of my works until November goes towards the Steven T. Hill Stroke Foundation. Silence Lane / I love cemeteries. / For some people, cemeteries are places of dread. For me, they are places of wonderful quiet and peace. A place of resting, whatever your religion, if any. Memories wrapped in stone and tree shadows. A place to reflect, and wonder about life. Perhaps our lives are just perfect – loved ones all around, financial independence; maybe fame and fortune. / In the end, we all wind up here. / / One life, one chance to feel good about it. / My rules for photography and art are very simple – I like it, or I don’t… / / Thanks for visiting my folio :) / I certainly appreciate your taking time to view what I’ve been up to, and enjoy reading your comments. / / / / Writings (or ramblings) / Come, Dark / Chandelier Brain / Eat Me / The 10th / You’re Strange, Rick / Ever-Queen / Sleeping / Beauty / The Black, White & Grey / / / / Hope / / / One / / / Reap what you Sow / / / Trust / / / Directions / / / Unconditional Love / / / The Long Road / / / Silence Lane

Completed 2004 age 18 I was inspired by the Japanese artist Hiroshi Senju, who tends to limit his colors in his paintings. Sometimes he paints an image where the background is the complimentary colors of the subject. His style is simple but at the same time intense, where the foreground stands out from the complimentary background. Medium: Watercolors This is a painting done in my sketchbook. The paper isn’t watercolor paper, but at least more durable than regular printing paper. acrylic on paper 14”x17” / Dancing in lighted pools of Jello-textured neon. “That’s the way to do it,” an old stranger called to the young man who, being suddenly aware of what he was doing, stopped, looked over his shoulder and glanced down at the ragged multi-colored sheet that was pulled tightly around his shoulders. He leaned back and peered up at the sun. Smoke rose from the side of a brick building and the odor or ginger floated through the air. The source of both puzzled him, as he remembered distinctly thinking he was the only person in the world just a few moments before. The old man smiled a toothless smear of flabby lips and bowed down to the dancing youth, who smiled back, jiggled aimlessly for a few seconds on thin, scratched legs and then sat down on a patch of grass in from of a building that had been painted by clowns. The young man pulled back the corner of his gown of rainbow hues and let out his heart, which had been beating all along, but in being freed, started to do a dance all of its own, though it had no legs. It also sang, which surprised the young man as he had always thought he was mute.
My origami calendar / / Just one sheet makes a big difference; / One sheet that can make over 2000 cranes. / Each crane a step closer to a better world; / Each piece a step closer to peace. Each square in the grid paper is 5×5mm; and to be exact, there were 2028 full squares in the paper When I was in grade 5 our teacher read “Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes” to our class. Sadako Sasaki was infected with leukemia. She spent her days folding cranes and making wishes upon them; wishing for her health and for a more peaceful world (the quote above is my writing inspired by the story of the thousand paper cranes). This concept was originally created in 2008, and photographed without a tripod. But now I have a tripod and decided to re-shoot this again and re-uploaded it on September 6, 2009. The sunlight through the petals and leaves looked lovely against the backdrop of the snow outside. Our short days make sunshine seem all the more precious, even indoors. Winner of Tulips in Vases challenge (I know – how many people have those photos or flowers hanging around, ready to pop into a challenge, eh?) Actually, I’m truly appreciative. And nice of someone to post it on the homepage, too. Pacific Northwest Art featured May 30, 2009 – Thank you! # Featured in Alaska ~ Beyond Your Dreams – Thank you! / I was down at Okanagan beach this afternoon taking some photographs when I noticed the reflection of some tree tops with the light shining through them in this puddle. Thought it looked almost like the leaves in the puddle were falling onto the trees…..seemed kind of magical to me :)
