  • This is an interior of one of the homes in the ghost town of Bodie. They are protected and in this shot my camera with a very wide angle lens is poking through a wire mesh to see this view. At the time I did not notice the “ghosts” because this was one of the first times I had used the lens and was not looking for them. It is the time of year though for ghosts and such to make their presence known!

  • Several months ago I was commissioned to do another cover for Conscious Living magazine here in Australia. The theme was to focus on “wild” and in particular….HORSES! / My first thoughts turned to a good friend and talented photographer here on Redbubble – Gene Praag who regularly captures amazing images of the wild horses in his home state of Utah. / And so I asked this fellow bubbler would he be able to help me with REAL wild horse images to work with, as opposed to me taking shots of local domestic horses and pretending they were “wild”. / From this collaboration I generated several pieces of art, and had loads of fun, and I have to say, both Gene and I were surprised at the magazine’s final choice of one of the less artistic images for their cover this issue….. (and yes, before anyone comments, I reckon Equus is spelled differently…lol) so I decided to share with you, one of the other images created from our joint efforts. SO thank you most sincerely to Gene for his generosity and kindness and for being so helpful in this project…... if you haven’t already done so, please take a moment to check out his amazing portfolio of images featuring the wild horses of the USA captured in their natural habitat, and being …... wild and free….. along with many other beautiful landscapes and subjects….. Thanks so very much Geno! You are a legend!

  • Nevada City is an amazing place, but you have to be there early to get the place to yourself ! We got lucky, it was ‘off’ season and consequently very quiet , combined with a beautiful morning. / There were so many things to photograph, you could spend a whole lot of time there, but we were headed for Yellowstone, so time was limited sadly. Along with Bodie, California, this is a place I would happily return to time and time again …....... if only !! Shot on a Canon EOS 40D, polarising filter attached, and mounted on a tripod. Canon 18-55mm kit lens / f22, 1/10 sec, underexposed by half a stop, iso 100. Cloudy WB. / I processed a single RAW file in Photomatix, HDR. Then processed in Adobe Camera RAW, then Ortoned it in PS CS3, adjusting Curves/levels, selective colour, etc., plus a bit of dodging and burning. / FEATURED IN / http://www.redbubble.com/groups/your-magic-places / AND / http://www.redbubble.com/groups/dslr-users-only-3-a-day / AND / http://www.redbubble.com/groups/rebel-group / AND / http://www.redbubble.com/happy-haven / AND / http://www.redbubble.com/groups/unlimited-quality

  • The White King’s Knight / Artist: No Frills Art / Biography: Danny The Knight’s Tale Nothing matters more than experience in battle. This the White King knows only so well. Once again drawing heavily on the University’s archives and powers, fallen Generals are recalled over and over again to relive battles that they have been participants in. The White Army Generals have long fought or fought under past greats and every career soldier dreams of being immortalized forever- literally. / Though the King’s knights are products of the Supernatural Wing of the University, the King likes to keep them close at hand . This belies his faith in the both Queen and the outcome of some of the experiments. / It also gives him a way to keep his history masked by controlling any Generals who have been reanimated, and who may have loose tongues.

  • Taken in what is deemed as a real “Ghost Town” in Ballycroy, Ontario, Canada. Once a thriving, hard drinking milling town back in the late 1800’s. All that’s left is just a few scattered houses and foundations. / A very eerie place to visit.

  • Hannah is rapidly leaving childhood behind, and turning into one of those strange beings we know as a teenager! Although she is nowhere near her teenage years, her attitude and general outlook on life is that of a budding teen! Nikon d40 18-55mm and editing in CS3, as this was snapped at my mothers without much thought to background or clothing! Natural light through patio doors. Aged 9

  • This is a beautiful little community snuggled high up in the mountains near Maricopa, California. During a visit today I took this shot and then processed it in CS3 with textures, filters and effects. This is the little town where I found the man I used in the “Character Portrait” image uploaded earlier. In fact, my wife and I went there for a memorial service for my cousin and that entire community turned out. The gentleman in the character image was a friend of my cousins for many years, whom I had never met before. Wonderful people whom I thank for their hospitality.
