This is an interior of one of the homes in the ghost town of Bodie. They are protected and in this shot my camera with a very wide angle lens is poking through a wire mesh to see this view. At the time I did not notice the “ghosts” because this was one of the first times I had used the lens and was not looking for them. It is the time of year though for ghosts and such to make their presence known!

Your breath comes in gasps as you rush away from the crooked mansion and its gold-mad inhabitants. I just need a breath of fresh air to clear my head you think. Feeling trapped by the surrounding gloomy swamp you look back at the manor and it seems to glow evilly in the stormy night… you catch a ghostly glimpse of Rudy Styne- but how could that be? You just ran outside after seeing your best friend Lillian stuffing his dead body into a shadowy closet! You squeeze your eyes shut, shudder, and shake your head- when you look again he is gone… For a murder mystery Boredom Competition and adding a little more diversity to my work- have to keep people on their toes :) Created from 3 exposures of the building on a clear blue day and one of the tree and moon, took forever in photoshop :) See the second image (unless you’re not a fan of violence) The Butcher and the third and final part of the story Empty /

Every Halloween my mother sifted through my Halloween candy when I got home because she said that she needed to check it for “razor blades.” Needless to say, she never found one. I actually did the kids in this piece about a year ago, but never dropped in a background. After digging it up last week I thought that maybe, just maybe I should finish it…you know, rather than simply letting it get crumpled up in my closet. I think I made the right choice.

Located about 10km north-east of Dorchester, Athelhampton House is a Tudor manor reputedly haunted by an ape (!), a cooper and the Grey Lady. It was built by Sir William Martyn in 1485 and surrounded by a 160 acres deer park. The most impressive features are the original 15th-century Great Hall and State Bedroom, and especially the formal, walled gardens. The house stayed in the Martyn family until 1595, then successively changed hands until 1957, when it was acquired by Robert Victor Cooke. His grand-son, Patrick Cooke, and his wife have been overseeing the operation at Athelhampton since 1995. Athelhampton’s most famous ghost is that of the Martyn family’s pet ape. When Nicholas Martyn died in 1595, the ape roamed the house searching for its new master only to find four surviving daughters. It is said that the animal can be heard scratching behind the panelling in the Great Chamber where it is trapped in a secret staircase. The two other ghosts are that of a Civil War cooper tapping on barrels in the Wine Cellar, and that of the Grey Lady, which passes through the walls of the East Wing to the State and Yellow Bedrooms. :) more info HDR – Photoshopped Featured In: My Child’s Art / Experimental Photography & Editing / Dorset, England

Deep in the forest the ooze of horror floods the atmosphere, a baby sleeps, cradled in it’s pram by an open window.. the baby wakes and cries loudly, the parents think it’s colic but baby knows better.. I received some items in a box the other day from my late uncle’s estate. As I was going through some old letters and papers I ran across some items that were very strange to me. you see my uncle was into old haunted house’s, ghost’s and such. I have never believed in such things, but what I came across in his items even boggled my mind. In the mid 1920’s he was investigating a house that was supposed to be haunted in Kansas City. I remember my father talking about it when I was a kid, he said my uncle went alone to the supposed haunted house to check it out; all he had with him was a camera. The next morning they found him out by the street completely out of his mind. All he would say over and over was “The Haunted is coming”….he never recovered. As I went through his belongings I found an old box camera and noticed that it still had film in it ….strange there was only one picture on it…… I thought I would share it with you my friends and see what you think. To take another step…... / To where it leads I fear….... Original image taken Les Invalides: Napoleon’s Tomb in Paris, obviously with a fair degree of postwork. I have to add, I was totally inspired whilst working on this, listening to “The Resistance”, Muse. Can you see the ghostly figure, not knowing whether to continue up the stairs to the light….....? Gazing upwards, a skeletal figure, gazing downwards, a screaming face, can you see both ? Many thanks to The Male Photographer group for the feature (September 2009).
I had to take my son to the health visitor clinic today for his year old check up. After we were through there (receiving a glowing report that all is very well with his development) I decided to walk by the graveyard in front of the old C/E church in the village. I had, of course, brought my camera. And this is what I got for my little sojourn.
