At this particular spot the morning-light show on that July morning a few days ago here in the forests near Hilversum/The Netherlands was at its best, when the sunbeams were chasing the morning ghosts. After which trees were they hiding? – I was ever so lucky to find this place in time, as this show was a fleeting appearance. Proposed for “Pay if forward” (http://www.redbubble.com/groups/pay-it-forward) / by Byron. Near Laage Vuursche, 24th July 2008, 7,15 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 48 mm / F 10, 1/30, ISO 200

Featured in Live, Love, Dream June 09 Ghosts of Silence When days begin to breathe shorter / and the unbending frost creeps through the woods / When primitive strength seems to be perfect / then you can hear the silence We are all surrounded by them / They are day and night, life and death / They are the sovereigns of our presence / Awake, awake with new power When the songs of birds are fading away / And the previously pleasures of mankind / Oh when all these are lying down to rest / Then the silence begins to live All whispers in the wind / from the ghosts of silence / Into the pristine woods they lure / frightened is the mind but clear Don`t deny their existence / because staying silent let they upraise / The ghosts of silence / Arise, arise into this world Abyssaria

Mystical Snow Gums, on the Great Alpine Road in Victoria , just have to love those trees. The Great Alpine Road meaders through national park landscape of the Victorian Alps.
A fun little HDR plus conventional image. Description for DAC: Shot three identical background sky and tree images with one stop over, one stop on, and one stop under in exposure. I then duplicated the final HDR image in the PS Layers palette. I also added the Flood effect with my Flaming Pear plugin. Next, I plonked my red moon in-between the two layers, and took the copy layer down to 69%. Then, I dragged the copy layer sideways using ‘scale,’ and made the copy layer jut out a little from the original layer, creating a sort of ‘ghost image.’ Then, I just added Little Boat, flooded that image, flattened the image, and saved it ;-) And here it is..

I recently had the priviledge of travelling through central Australia. I scouted out this composition the day before taking this shot. With my planned return the following day and the show exceeded all expectations in a display of desert light and beauty.Glowing in the twilight, a lone ghost gum stands starkly and majestically. The scene backdropped by the jaw dropping West Macdonnell ranges. When walking the streets always keep clear of houses like these!
2 Beautiful Rainbow Lorikeets having a drink in a small pool of water in the knot of that Ghost Gum tree. Shot on the banks of the Noosa River, Noosaville. I think this shot sums up the natural beauty of Australia well, 2 beautiful birds, in a beautiful tree :) Canon 50D, 85mm.
