Farmers are getting younger all the time. This young man is hard at work collecting weeds for the chooks and ducks. After feeding his friends, he then collected the eggs from their nests and hidy-holes. He was the shortest of the family therefore could reach under bushes easier!
Hope everyone is having a happy and safe Easter. Just so you all know, yes, these eggs are yummo… freshly laid this morning!
An old cart, bogged in the garden. Definitely retired from the workforce.
An old cart at Reynella, South Australia.
Found these strange flowers growing in the garden of the Festival Theatre in Adelaide! Aren’t they a great idea! We should all grow them… do you think they need fertiliser?
Upon my birthday cake (which my Mum and Son had created together!!) were two butterflies wishing birthday wishes!! They are so beautiful, I just had to show them off!!
We’ve not mush room in our garden, so when we get vegetables growing, we are such fun guys! / ha ha… I know… very weak! But I bet you at least smiled!!!
The remains of a fairy ring that appeared in our garden after the rain!
We have toadstools growing on the other side of the driveway! Fairy rings one side, houses the other! I’ve left food and other related things in the tags… it must be food for someone! It did have an ant crawling on it. I missed it though (obviously!!).
Someone got a new toy for their birthday!! And it glows lots of pretty colours through fibre optic tubes… very cool!!! This photograph was taken with my Olympus digital camera using the macro filter. I waited impatiently for the darkness of night to fall and when it did, I put my camera and my son to work. / Many orders of ‘wave this way’, ‘hold still’, ‘press the button… now’ and ‘no, no, leave it so it goes through all the colours’ were put upon the hard working 9 year old. Only a few dozen or more photos were taken! This is my fave out of all of them. There were so many different variations, but I think we need to practise our air drawing skills before uploading any more!! But the practising should be fun cos the colour changes were beautiful to watch.
Dot the Ladybeetle Beanie Bear and her two friends, have got together to wish you a happy birthday!! Or even birthay invitations!! Let your imagination go wild with the things you can do with these groovy bugs!
Another one for the train collaboration by Kathleen. It’s Gustav Nordland’s Empty Nest, Kookylane’s Blue and my Easter eggs and Tiny Toiler one of my gorgeous bees.
This is Socks, decorating our Christmas tree. She loves throwing off the baubles and chewing the branches and tinsel. She’s just found the Christmas lights too… not good. Thankfully for us, seeing nothing else is working, she doesn’t like the camera pointing at her and got out of the tree quicksmart when I got it out!! But not before I got proof of our new Christmas decoration for all to see!!!
Some call this a dove cote, others a bird house or birdfeeder… I reckon it should be called a multistorey apartment building for the feathered variety! / It’s been in the garden of a local South Australian winery for over 20 years (when I last saw it). It hasn’t changed much in that time apart from being alot dirtier, the timber is aged and the paint is discoloured. But it’s really old and a brilliant feature of the Reynella garden (which now is mostly carpark).
This little carnivorous plant is a character in a story I made up one day. She’s was first created in Cinema4D, a 3d modelling program. / Who knew that redrawing her in illustrator would take so long!!! Her favourite food is space travellers but when they’re not available, is just as happy to munch on the flies of her home planet, Venus. She’s also starring in 2 artworks with Origami Man…
A sketch of two birds having a chat on a cold winters day. You can also wear these friends everywhere you go… /
Feathered friends chatting in the wintertime, probably about the worm that’s poked his head out of the ground to see if it’s spring yet!
It wasn’t too cold… but it wasn’t exactly a warm sunny, Summer’s day. Probably because it’s Autumn! Christies Beach, South Australia.
Yesterday, my son and I went to build sandcastles by the sea. We set off in our Winter woollies, gumboots, buckets and spades, ready for anything. I took time out to take a few photos, as you do!! Taken at Christies Beach, South Australia. One for a bubble challenge!! My 2009 resolution… go to the beach lots more often!! Whether its rain or shine!!
A day at Christies Beach. Fantastic weather, slight breeze, birds flying north and lots of beautiful waves.
A day at Christies Beach. Fantastic weather, slight breeze, birds flying north and lots of beautiful waves. If these were bigger, they’d be great for surfing!
Don’t let Venus Fly Trap’s name fool you… she may be a plant, but she doesn’t eat flies!! Spacemen are her favourite. Origami Man just doesn’t know it yet. Such courage and bravery is shown here by Origami Man as he greets Venus Fly Trap. You may ask, would he still be as friendly if he knew what these carniverous ate? And the answer is yes! Of course he would… OM doesn’t prejudice against those that eat space explorers… he just wears protective clothing!!! This image is created in Cinema 4D and was part of an assignment at TAFE. / One day, I’ll get around to getting the story I wrote for him created. Its on the to do list!!! Why not get your own Venus Fly Trap to wear!!! /
Origami Man travelled the universe in his spaceship and landed on the home planet of Venus Fly Trap (and her friends). / Moonflowers cover the ground and the craters are homes to various creatures. The venus fly traps live in the tall craters, shaped like vases. Such courage and bravery is shown here by Origami Man as he greets Venus Fly Trap. A sketch of two red robins having a chat on a cold winters day. These cute birds are the same as the ones called Feathered Friends and Red Robins with a Splash of Colour except they’ve got a new background. I recently received my cool bubble shirt with these guys on black and it’s amazing (if I don’t say so myself)... so I just had to put them on black as art as well.
