  • Inspiration is but a muse; and, this art has lots of it for you to use! / CREATION INFORMATION Medium: Digital Collage, Typography, Mixed Media Design. Techniques: Digital Processing in Sepia Tones w/ Typographical Design. Tools: Digital Camera, Photoshop CS2. Shooting Location: The Getty Center – Los Angeles, CA. NOTES: The woman in this creation is actually a digital image shot at The Getty and then digitally manipulated into the collage. The original art is on showcase at The Getty. It is a chalk sketch entitled “Study of a Woman Turned Toward the Left” and created by Charles-Antoine Coypel. I was very moved by the piece and was inspired to photograph it. I then wanted to share that inspiration via collage with other artists. Once again, this image was captured by myself while visiting the museum and was NOT taken from online (it has a higher resolution). You can view more information about the piece here. / ALSO AVAILABLE / Wise Words T-Shirts /

  • Also seen in Flickr. Shorncliffe is a suburb of Brisbane, Australia. It is situated northeast of Brisbane and is the neighbouring suburb of Sandgate. In 1865 a company was formed to construct the pier, and it was finished in 1872. The pier still stands reaching out into the bay over a century later. The pier is the start of the Brisbane to Gladstone yacht race in April and is an element in many photographs and pieces of art circulating in Brisbane art galleries. With views of Redcliffe peninsula, the Boondall Wetlands, Moreton Bay Islands and the Shorncliffe cliffs, the pier is a feature in the nautical landscape of this northside Brisbane suburb. In late 2000 the pier was refurbished and repainted. Currently the boardwalk leading to the pier and the adjoining parks are undergoing large scale renovations which are aimed at attracting tourists to the area and reclaiming its bayside suburb character. Refer to this Photographer’s Guide for more information.
