Ok, I’ve been back out again with the wind up toy cars ( see Sun Touched ) and this is the first result. Inspired by one of my favourite films, ‘The Getaway’ starring Steve McQueen and Ali McGraw as Carter “Doc” McCoy and his wife Carol. Coastal village in the middle of nowhere on an island off the coast of West Papua. The locals who live here are caretakers of an ancient (and eerie) burial site – Badwa, The Place of Heroes. Famous warriors and chieftains have their bones packed into hollowed out logs and have their remains interred in various limestone cliffs and caverns in the surrounding area and islands. I felt very privileged to be given a tour…..

ref / A black Widow I think..? ...caught fleeing from the scene of the crime. / I wanted to do a watercolour painting, but i had the paper and not the paints, so I diluted some acrylic paints and used that instead. this is the first time I’ve tried that.

A lagoon on the Perhentian island in Malaysia, this was such a peaceful location I rested here for several hours before moving along.

Im not fond of city life. So any chance I get to find a bit of nature hidden away from it all, I set out to find it. This place is actually in the middle of the city of Abbotsford, with a large Canada Day festival celebration going on around it. Thousands of people attended this celebration. And after a couple of hours of wandering through them I took a break to wander away and get lost in the nature nearby.

Sanibel Island was our summer getaway. Only seven months ago we were enjoying the beauty of this Florida paradise; I have such fond memories so thought I’d revisit the warmth and the relaxation during these chilly winter days.
