Shot this a few weeks ago in the cove. / Brutus and I were heading out and happened to see mama and her two cubs right along the road in the woods. One cub was trying to get the other to play as mama watched over them. / Was tough having to shoot between two trees and then have the debree in front of me, so it was manual focus to the rescue!! / They stuck around for alittle while until the tourons started stopping and gathering around, then mama moved them on out of the area. / If only people would realize they need to turn Off their cars, and BE QUIET!!! they could sit for a lot longer time to enjoy the true meaning of nature spending time around these beautiful creatures / Best if viewed larger Shot this in Shutterspeed mode / SS at 1/200 / ISO at 800 / F-stop at F 5.6 / Ev at +0.7 / Focal length at 300mm

I processed this image with the new virtualPhotographer plug-ins that I installed in Photoshop this morning. I kept it very light, wanting to avoid overprocessing. Once again, I used the High Key with a soft focus effect, but I decreased the strength in both effects to get more contrasts and emphasize the shadows. I then adjusted the settings to my liking, and added a curves adjustment layer in Photoshop. Shot in aperture priority / Focal length 44mm / ISO-100 / Aperture f/11 / Shutter 1/200 sec. this is what was left of our photog get together here in the smokys, gary had to leave us :( everyone fussed at me for shooting this in sepia instead of shooting in color saying i could convert it ..when they ALL know..i dont convert!! lol there’s something about shooting in sepia or black and white which adjusts all the contrast and tones, versus converting which I think (my opinion only) takes away some of the contrast and tones

I suppose that I could have sliced these apples apart on the computer, but that would have meant that I couldn’t use a big knife. So, after whackin’ them apart very carefully, I had to do the Humpty Dumpty thing and try to put them together again. However, the king doesn’t have any horses anymore, and “all the king’s men” has been changed to “All the King’s Persons; Local 283” ...they’ve been booked solid since last Easter! I decided that a good option to putting them back together again, was to just eat ‘em. I chose the green one first, “Granny Smith, what green skin you have!” ...and that’s enough of THAT! :)

Well the turn out was a little disappointing but for the first Sydney meet but the trains, and that it was the first meet we still had a good showing and enjoyed a great day in the city with like minded folk. In attendance was Macro Britti, Bodymechanic, Miloman, Ozcloggie and the every charming MBartworks (that stands for MB Artworks, not Bartworks…incase like me you were confused). Well I decided for the first time to opperate the D200 in Black and White mode only (I shot RAW+Jpeg so I could always get at the colour if I wanted too). I really liked Hien’s photos of the melbourne meet, so decided to try my hand at Black and White, and mix up the ISO to introduce what I hoped was some complimentary noise.
