This was taken in an art museum in Chicago. It’s certainly a different style for me, but I do like the straight lines and angles of architecture and would love to shoot more of this kind of thing in the future. (In this one, all I did was invert the center panel.) As this is my first foray into this kind of thing, I’d appreciate any suggestions or constructive criticism! Thanks! :)

oil on canvas / 121×90 cm / 2007 original for sale It’s the moments when the world falls away, and all that is left is our own consciousness, the sound of our breaths rattling in our chests… All that is left is our own perception of ourselves, uncoloured, unrecognisable, unchangeable. / It’s the moment when we can just close our eyes and just. A compilation of several fractals, blended into one image using Photoshop. Is that what I think it is? Maybe not. Well, I guess it could be anything. Looks like I’m into fractals today. This was created from a photograph of a barberry bush with the afternoon sun coming through its leaves. You can view the photo and details of the pattern in my blog entry on this pattern. Each of the pieces of the pattern has a reflection of itself on every edge, so it seems continuous throughout, but not all the pieces are the same shape, which keeps it from being too repetitive. There are areas with 16, 12, and 8 sides, with transitional elements in between to connect them up. I hope to interest someone in making gift wrap from patterns like this some day.
