Manuel is a very interesting character, he is about 72 and lives just down the road from us. He loves to tell you about the old days in Spain. He was a driver of a small van and he drove all over Spain, with all the rustic roads, it must have taken him forever, his face certainly tells a story.

It is a sketch by me inspired by famous drawing by Sukumar Ray, father of great film director Satyajit Ray, for one of his poem in his book of children’s poems where he shows a neatly dressed Bengali Babu (gentleman) gets all things wrong during the morning walk. This is a humourus poem. I made this using normal black gel pen. This was made when I was in class V.

This is a picture of Rick. He works with Al Oemings Auctions getting antique wagons and rigs sale ready. He was exceedly gracious about allowing me to snap pictures of various wagons this day telling us what they were and giving us history on each of them. Very tongue-in-cheek… Sept/09 Okotoks Bisons Pre-season action at Okotoks, AB with our former Captain taking out the opposition, albeit illegally. It was very fortunate that no-one was injured on the play. The corners are a dangerous place if you don’t have your head up.

This gentleman, whom we met near the border of Maine and Quebec, was sitting in the early morning sun sipping his coffee. He lives beside a very unique museum which had once been a Catholic basilica. Conversing with him was very interesting, as he had considerable knowledge about the area. The old home in which he resides had once been the rectory for the basilica. He was a very jolly and happy man.
