A photograph taken during an early morning walkaround in the Belgian city of Gent. I can never sleep in a strange bed, so i decided to wake up early and have a look around the city before all the tourists wokr up. Indeed, at about 7 in the morning on a sunday, i was almost the only person in the city.

In South Australia’s mid-north there are many towns whithering away. Railway stations slowly decay, while the lines are no longer in use. Once centres for the surrounding farmlands, they are now bypassed for the larger regional centres and cities. / The only thing that passes through here now is the breeze, as it blows through the weeds and native flowers, now permanent features of a once proud railway station and platform. / Traditional in many country “mens facilities” is the open air urinals … bad luck if its raining when you need to go. Now shadowed by trees growing over walls and blocking doorways Manoora – situated between Saddleworth and Burra F5.6 ; 1/200sec ; ISO100 ; 18mm Canon 300D / Sigma 18-200mm OS

As part of the races some of the fleets will be expected to navigate their way around both Culebra and Culebrita – a small offshore island located east of Culebra – before making their way for the finish line.
