Shading and vanishing point to show each generation’s “stand” in life: grandma turned away totally towards the dark “tunnel” [end of life]; mother with side of face visible & going into the dark “tunnel” & the new generation almost fully turned in the “light”. 22×28 oil

It is so wonderful to be heading home after a long trip, in the midst of pallet of color that represents Fall’s splendor. Walk a while down this gentle path sprinkled with shades of vibrant gold and red enfolding us in its comforting embrace.

Another design from the series.
This small town barber shop has been in existence for almost sixty years; my father, 84 years young, is still at the helm, taking care of his clientele who prefer Daddy’s skills (and conversation) to the modern day, slick salons and spas. Here’s the old pro giving a trim to his great-grandson who was in town for the holidays. Visiting Daddy’s barbershop is like a step back in time; it may not be full of fancy products or have fashionable decor, but it’s got character and the old gents who congregate there have interesting stories to tell and rich, abundant lives to share. I feel much more at home there than in the sleek salons.

We all at some time in our lives dream of achieving a place or security for our family. In this chaotic world of economic uncertainty the dreams of economic security have become harder and harder to achieve. Where in the past a family could have one parent working and still purchase a home and live in relative comfort. Now we 98% of the population is lucky to be able to keep a roof over their heads and also be able to place food upon the table, with two members of the household providing income. What is the result of this absence of parental guidance from the homes, some say it is the total degradation of our societal structure. Children are being brought up without a foundation of integrity, honor, and respect for others. What can we as a society do to provide for children that will create a positive result a hundred years from now? Let us all consider what we can do to make their heartfelt dreams a reality. THIS is what got me into all the balls of different colours that I couldn’t let go of when I got into the Incendia preset. This one looks almost like some sort of hammered Mother Of Pearl with pearls embedded in it. Corel PaintShop Pro XI did considerable contrast and lighting edits.
Inspired by my visit to the Dallas Zoo. / A combined 3 digital photographs and Photoshop created images, merged to form this surreal piece.
