Once functional gears, now seized and rusted in place, forgotten and neglected. The beauty and texture of industrial decay is all around us, if you know where to look. This was taken at the Glenwood Power Station, in Yonkers, NY. / http://www.hudsonvalleyruins.org/

What a beautiful way to travel. Big red wheels paddle through the water of Lake Michigan, up and down the inlet to Saugatuck and each time it passes the tune pops into my head “Big Wheels Keep On Turnin” do you know the rest?

An image captured with my old trusty Minolta 7000 with a 55mm and 30secs using Fuji 35mm film. / Never thought I’d use this image except it fits the lyrics to a song i wrote a while back… / If I could attach an mp3 of the song, now that would be cool! If anyone knows how please let me know!! / Anyway, here are the lyrics… / Listen to the Song If silk be the fabric of the soul, / Then imagine how your fingers feel to my mind. / With lifestyles all about control, / Where on earth are we going to find the time to let our minds entwine? / I’ll try hard not to lose to most important thing to me, / Let it kindle like precious fire. / Yet just as I begin to feel like someone I used to know, / I also begin to tread the wire. / Angel come down to me. / I’m flying aimlessly, / Guide my landing gear. / Say it once without feeling and then rehearse it again. / A long time of recovery, / Never a truer word was said. / Take something good make it bad. / Take something happy and make it sad. / This is all a possibility. / Angel come down to me. / I’m flying aimlessly, / Guide my landing gear . / Vehicular works / Architecture / Transitional Industrial Utopian Series / Abstract / Beautiful Humans / Wearable Art / Cards For All Occasions / . / / . / You can also listen to PLV’s music / . / Please take a look at the wonderful work of / Graham Colton /

A friend told me this is what she thought of when she looked at this “that reminds me of what you would see in a thought bubble above Einstien’s head”. So I went with it.

All The Gear, No Idea! / Don’t worry peeps, it’s my entry for the ARSE’s July competition: The Worst Buy it, there’s no markup, my gift to you, I’m very proud! I was going to add a gratuitous close-up detail shot in the description, but I think the design is strong enough without it. (I can add one if people request it) OK, here’s the detail for typography connoisseurs: /

Our crackberries and iPhones woke us up at 4:30am this mornin’ to get an early start on the shooting. We were off to a secret location recommended to us by a local photog and was well worth the early wake-up. We are sacked right now after a full day of shooting and are going to order in some pizza but promise to add another journal with some pics up once I relax and finish my bottle of rum. In the meantime, I have received a few inquiries as to what type of equipment we are using and what we brought with us. I thought the best way to was to just take a darn picture of it all. :) Enjoy…... D Missing: / / - 2 x Induro A413 tripods with various ballheads (in trunk of car, too tired to bring them up) / - 1 Canon 20D and Tamron 17-35 2.8/4 (hey, I needed something to take the darn picture with!) / - the gargantuan whole in our wallets
