I was quite lucky to spot this lovely lady in her exhibit. Let me explain a bit. The lion exhibit at the local zoo can be disappointing at times as the pair spend most of their time napping (well, they are cats) and they know precisely where to snooze in peace and away from prying eyes. So, imagine my surprise when on my way to the exit I see that the lions are awake! It took some looking and I happened to spot the female lion camouflaged in some greenery under a rock outcropping. After the fact, I wish I would have done something so the highlights would not be so blown out, but then again this shot took a bit of waiting and hoping she would look up.

Another collaborative effort, this time at Mrs Macquarie’s Chair at the end of the Botanical Gardens Sydney: Model: Brigitte / Art direction: Rose / Photography and post-processing: Geoff Well you’ve got to hand it to Brigitte – she’s pretty versatile – she also featured in the Silent is the Night Series I’ve posted two versions of this shot because I’d love to hear which you prefer. The interesting thing about the “anime” version is that I used the same Photoshop filter on both Brigitte and the Harbour background and Brigitte hardly changed at all and the background changed completely. Shot with the Canon 1Ds MkIII / Tv: 1/80sec / Av: f/6.3 / ISO: 100 / FL: 96mm
