This shot taken from a beautiful gazebo in Seaside, Florida. It was unoccupied! It was very scenic with its adirondack chairs. It did lack cloud coverage that day. I decided to add another photo I had previously taken to the background to suit my vision of this peaceful place. Enjoy! / / / / / /

When I visit my Mom in Pembroke we love to visit Pansy Patch Park. It is surrounded by a forest and is such a beautiful and inspirational place, especially in the fall when all the leaves are changing colors. The original image has been modified into a work of art – bringing out, I hope, what my spirit sees, not necessarily everything the lens does. Featured in Exceptional Exphrasis November 7, 2008. I have a soft spot in my heart for trees without their leaves … the graceful dance of the branches against a brilliant blue sky is always the best part of winter!!!! A friend (Tony, A90six) recently said something that reminded me … we all go past lovely things every day … and become so used to them that they lose their uniqueness. This particular image has been sitting in my computer for months, never to see the light of day if it hadn’t been for Tony’s comment. I encourage you all to bring new eyes to the everyday in your lives … and see what surprises await you!! Two things that go perfectly well together, don’t you think? This is one of my favourite places in my hometown. It’s a park alongside the St. Lawrence river with a great view on downtown Montreal on the other side.

Did this from inside a Gazebo , see the path in the garden to the left , ( not yet snow covered) ... it was on a very cold beautiful snowy winter day it was snowing wind changing direction, so to protect the lens on my camera I shot some scenes from in here.. I framed the shot with the gazebo entrance … your comments highly valued and respected with my Kodak Z1285

New Market Maryland, off of Route 70, east of Frederick, is a quaint, old-fashioned town which has made its name locally as a great place to spend the day antiquing. I came across this lovely setting behind one of the shops. Image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens on July 19, 2009. Shutter speed 1/200, aperture f7.1, iso 500. Post processing included hdr from a single hand-held image and Orton in Photoshop.

Featured in Rural Around The Globe August 28 2009. Best Viewed Larger This lovely gazebo, which is often used for weddings, is on the mountain at Blue Knob, Claysburg, Pennsylvania. I took this image on the evening of August 14, 2009. The original image was taken with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens. I had a lot of fun tinkering including hdr in Photomatix and subsequent Orton technique on the image in Photoshop and embellishments in Corel Painter 11.
