I was walking by the Seine last year and came across this old banger of a Renault 4 in bright blue and thought what a great subject for a photo. As I was in an area where the Impressionist and post-impressionist painters used to frequent, I decided to give the photo an impressionist feel so I enhanced it in Photoshop with a series of filters to give it a more pointillist look. I love all the different colours and the light helped give it a lot of different tones. Artwork from Ireland…subject matter from France.

This has a Gaudi feel about it with the multi-colour mosaic effect. It was originally a photo of a pavement but I decided to alter it digitally for a more artistic effect. Hope you like it. / Featured in Brick, Block, Tiles and Mosaic Mania – 16th April 2009.
