  • Gutsy Midnight Oil frontman Peter Garret – one of the first to bring awareness through popular music , the unspeakable injustices inflicted on the aboriginal people of this country by foreign settlers. / Medium – felt tip marker pen on paper. ‘How can we dance when our earth is turning / How do we sleep when our beds are burning’ / Midnight Oil check out my other political interpretations: politics greenawareness music and musicians

  • I generally stay out of topics revolving around AFL, religion and politics. When I (ahem…if I) add stencil art to the many laneways of Melbourne, they tend to be TV personalities such as Rove McManus and Bert Newton… / ... / The upcoming apology to the indigenous people of our land by our Prime Minister though, sends chills down my spine and puts a lump in my throat. Why? / ... / Ever since Peter Garrett and his band Midnight Oil wore the “sorry” suits at the 2000 Olympics, a bold statement was made. Our previous Prime Minister made a big deal about it – by not making any apology. / ... / And now something is finally going to be done! It’s such a big thing – it’s a milestone – and I believe it’s the right thing to do. / ... / This is one of my only ever political pieces of art, comin’ out of the closet!!!

  • Kenny Garrett ’s power, vison and strength is heard through the voice of his saxophone. He is one of our living giants whose prominence has been clearly demonstrated through his performances with Miles Davis, Pharoah Sanders, and as a stand alone vehicle of universal musicality. Along with James Carter, David McMurray and Alan Barnes, he continues the traditon of current Detroit saxophone greats.

  • This is the Moment that Peter Garrett and Midnight Oil, leave the Stage, probably for the last time. I like this one, because you can see all the people that have come out to stand on the side of the stage, to mark the occasion. Also have a look and see if you can find the two guys operating the spot-lights.
