  • Closeup of a rusty wreck showing the wonderful colour and patina on an old Fordson Thames that is well beyond its use by date (...but NOT for photography purposes!!! LOL)

  • An original pastel painting. Original artwork size- 45cm x 67cm. 2007 It seems the larger the animal, the more docile and appealing they are. What would the world be without these magnificent creatures…...great and small! / These two are probably old enough to start training as a team in harness. / Sold at exhibition :) Has been featured in ‘Everything Draft Horse’, ‘Equine Art and Photography’, Traditional Equine Art’ and ‘All Pets Great and Small’ groups.

  • This picture was a commission I had to do. It took a fair bit of planning as the customer described the colours, oriental lean, etcetera that she wanted in the pic. So, with an old piece of blue fabric and a lot of research on dragonflies, I went to work. The entire piece is done in colour pencil, with white gouache and black ink details on mat board. 55cm x 55cm. 2005 / Unfortunately lost to the Victorian Black Saturday fires 2009. Has been featured in ‘Pencil Drawing’, ‘Coloured Pencil Art’ and ‘Painters in Modern Times’ groups.

  • The trees at the studio in spring time are in full blossom with the promise of fruit. This one is plum. / Done in Colour pencil and white gouache on grey colourfix pastel paper. Size – 34cm x 46cm. 2007 / Won Highly Commended at the San Remo / Newhaven Art Show 2009. Sold at exhibition 2009.   • A work I did many moons ago and a subject matter I find myself drawn to revisit. This picture is done in pastel pencils on pastel paper. Size approx – 48cm x 68cm. 1987 Sold Featured in ‘Painters in Modern Times’ group.

  • I have a lovely black – brown Standardbred mare. Her name is Stirling Moon, but we call her Spot (Spotless) This painting is modeled after her, with a few changes so I was not compelled to keep the painting! / Acrylic on canvas board. Size approx A3 2006. Sold.

  • I did this picture for the pure pleasure of drawing what I think is the perfect arabian. / Colour pencil, white gouache and black ink on grey mount board. Can’t remember the size, think it was about 44cm x 66cm. 1998. Sold Has been featured in the ‘Equine Art and Photography’ groups.

  • This dingo in central Australia actually came up to my hand and sniffed it to see if I had any food for him. Seeing that I didn’t he ran off and made himself comfortable in the shade of some tussocks. I took a few shots with the telelense as he was a fair way from me. From these photos I did this drawing. It is not the entire piece, just a detailed section. / Colour pencil and white gouache on brown pastel paper. 1986. Sold Has been featured in ’ Painted Dogs’ , ‘Pencil Drawing’, ‘Coloured Pencil Art’ and ‘Creative Cards’ groups.

  • Another Clydie. There were about a dozen of them in this paddock in Mansfield and I used a roll or two of film on them. From these photos I have composed many drawings and paintings. / Water colour pencils on mount board. Size approx. 25cm x 34cm. 2003 Sold. Has been featured in the ‘Equine Art and Photography’ and ‘Creative Cards’ groups.

  • I saw a picture in a magazine of two girls riding their horses on the beach. I was inspired by the power and movement of the pic and wanted to draw it. So, here is the finished result. / Pastel painting on grey pastel paper. Size – 48cm x 68cm. 2007. Original for sale.

  • By now you would’ve guessed my love of horses! This was a commission of a true gentleman, a Warmblood. He was only a small one apparently for a warmblood, about 16hh! The people who commissioned this had others and they were bigger. / Colour pencil and white gouache on grey mount board. Size – 45cm x 60cm. Has been featured in ‘Equine Art and Photography’ group.

  • These are the hills behind my place. Typical for this area. I just added the horses, although dairy cows is what you see around here. / Colour pencil on mount board. Size approx – A4 2003 Sold Has been featured in ‘Colour Pencil Art’ and ‘Pencil Drawing’ groups.

  • This is my first piece done in the ‘Prismacolour’ brand of colour pencil. All my other pencil pieces have been in Derwents. The subject is a small Rhododendron plant at my studio, a delight to draw and the pencils a delight to use. I did this piece while I was doing ‘Steve’s VL’ the colours, frills and freedom of this was a break from the straight lines and accuracy of the cars. Done in Prismacolor Premiere pencils on light grey (nearly white) mount board. Size – 30×53cm. 2008 / Won ‘Highly Commended’ at the Frankston Art Show 2008 / Sold at exhibition 2009 Featured in the ‘Colored Pencil Art’ group.

  • This piece started out to be twice the size it ended up. It was going to be a more traditional style painting. But as it developed it became clear to me that this was all it needed. This was how it was meant to be. The picture sold at the first exhibition I entered it into. It sold to a lady who had recently lost her husband (I rang her and spoke to her) She knew she had to have it, it was meant for her…..and her husband. / Pastel on mat board. size – 24×70cm 2008 Sold. Has been featured in ‘Painters in Modern Times’ and ‘Landscape Painting’ groups.

  • This was commissioned by a friend who just missed out on buying ‘Peace’ He paid me, then said ‘do a picture for me’ :) So I kept along the theme of ‘Peace’ Except ‘Barktown Light’ is the bush across the road from me. I have the pleasure of walking my dogs and riding my horses in (and painting) this beautiful place. Acres of crown land, that many people use for recreation, and all where I live. Pastel painting on colorfix primed mat board. 35×60cm 2008 Sold. Has been featured in ‘Gippsland, Victoria’, ‘Painted Nature’ and ‘Landscape Painting’ groups.

  • Churchill Island, located off Philip Island Vic, has a working horse display every Easter. It is great watching these magnificent animals in action just like days gone by. / Colour pencil on mat board 55.5×40cm 2008 Sold.   • Once again I have used my own horse as a model for this. Although she looks absolutely nothing like it. She is a black standardbred and this one looks more like a liver chestnut quarter horse x. But the photo I used had the angle and lighting I was looking for and then I just used my artists license with the rest! Acrylic on canvas board 40.6×50.8cm 2008 Sold at ‘Different Voices’ exhibition, Oct 2009.

  • A commission I did some time ago as a raffle prize. Wildon Impressive, ‘Imp’, for short, is a lovely Arabian pony stallion. He sure did show off for me on photo day, prancing around, giving me lovely photos to work from. Derwent colour pencils , white gouache and black ink on mat board. 36×45cm. 2006 Has been featured in ‘Equine Art and Photography’ and ‘The Pony Club’ groups.

  • My 1st painting for 2009. An acrylic on canvas board, I wanted to experiment with borders on this. The result is surprising and I will probably try it with others :) The scene is morning light filtering through the trees in Boolarra where I live. Beautiful green countryside of rolling hills and dense bushland. 46×61cm. 2009 Awarded ‘Highly Commended’ at the Mirboo North Art Show 2009. For sale.   • A large lithe cat, almost wild in nature, but she sure was enjoying the sun in the lounge that day. Derwent Artists colour pencils on grey mat board. A4 size 2007 Commission.
