  • Pink- purple hemerocallis or daylily. Each bloom lasts one day but a clump can provide blooms for months. Native to asia, the daylily has become one of the most widely-grown perennials in North America. It is easy to grow, tolerates an incredible range of growing conditions, and has been hybridized into an astonishing array of colours and patterns. It tends to ‘naturalize’ or spread out from wherever it’s planted.

  • German (or Bearded) Iris are loved for their fascinating design and sturdy, vigorous growth habit. They are hardy, disease and drought-resistant plants. Long blooming in late spring and early summer, with handsome green sword-like foliage. This one has rich purple standards (the petals that stand up) as well as falls. This plant doesn’t have a ‘beard’ – the contrasting coloured fuzz visible on some hybrids.
