This is the bridge that crosses the Myall River from Teagardens to Hawks Nest. / It was taken on the way home from a good meal to the B&B. As you can see the water was so still it mirrored the lights on the bridge. It is as it was taken by our point & shoot camera, a Sony Cybershot 4.1 at maximum zoom and without a flash. / Viewed by more than 50 visitors and my most favourited work. Thanks to the hosts of 50 things for featuring this work. Their encouragement much appreciated. / / This pic was voted in the top ten of a challenge / in the group “Rivers, Lakes and Dams” then / selected for the home page, my very first such honour. / Then it was featured in the PEACE, LOVE & TRANQUILITY Group. / Recently it was picked in the top ten in the avatar challenge for the Black with a touch of colour group. / Thanks to all who voted for it. / Many thanks to the hosts of all groups for their encouragement! /

Oil Pastel and Acrylic on old wood with slight digital enhancements Ophelia, puzzled by the radical transformation that had taken place overnight to this butterfly friend of hers, thought to herself, “She was in a white thread-like casing yesterday, how did all that happen so fast? There must be something magical about that case!” This is inspired by a book Hope For The Flowers by Trina Paulus. This is a cute and yet thought provoking story about two caterpillars who because they mistake the meaning of their urge to get high, get entangled climbing a horrible “caterpillar pillar”. And for two caterpillars, we all know, surrendering to the cocoon is the only way to finally fly. Hope For the Flowers is a book that celebrates HOPE. My fave lines from the book is “How does one become a butterfly?” She asked pensively. “You must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar.” We are all meant to be as beautiful and free like the butterflies, that’s our destiny…as we free ourselves to be who we really are…and together with our innate talents,we bring hope to the world around us, bringing change inevitably around us :D / You can view and buy my other “Metamorphosis” creations from my Zazzle Gallery:

It is 3am as I post this image, and my two favourite treasures are both lost in dreamland, so what better than to dedicate this to the sleeping beauties :o) The night is black, / And the stars are bright, / And the sea is dark and deep And someone I know is safe / And snug, and the’re drifting / Off to sleep ~In the Night garden (CBeebies)
Acrylic on 16×20 canvas, sealed with a satin varnish / Inspired by a photo by photographer: Darla Teagarden This painting came together so smoothly for me. Sometimes I struggle with the colors and the concept. Although it may have helped to have a reference photo. Usually I just go off an idea that’s in my brain, and when it doesn’t come out exactly how I imagined it, I get frustrated. But, I don’t stop until it’s the way I want it to be ♥ Redbubble Featured Art – May 2009 Featured in Color Me a Rainbow (pink) – June 2009
These little Fuschias are so lovely- they hang loose and free from the shrub and appear to be dancing with those long delicate legs emerging from their pretty dresses. Have so many out now in my garden – doubles and singles- in the most beautiful vivid and clashing colours of Pinks,Mauves,Reds and Purples!! Worth clicking Large to see all the stars. 30 second exposure of a moving cloudbank backlit by the moon between two pinnacles in the Gardens of Stone National Park (isn’t that the coolest name for a NP?). Taken around midnight. First new landscape pic for a while. A friend invited me to another friend’s birthday in this amazing location. I’ve never been to this area on the other side of the Blue Mountains and was just gobsmacked as we drove down this valley with these majestic mountains rising on either side. I spotted this vantage point on the way in and as the party wore on snuck away to get some shots and was presented with this vista as I rolled up in the car. Managed to get about 15 mins in before it started to sleet. Man it was freezing with the wind coming off the late snow. The party was in an old art deco hotel being lovingly restored by this young couple and their six(!) children (oldest 11!!) Can’t believe the energy some people have or their vision. This hotel is located in a near-deserted old shale mining town at the end of a valley you can only access by dirt road about 4 hours from Sydney. It was all quite surreal – particularly when some of the girls at the party heard I was a photographer and decided they wanted to do a Norman Lindsay style “bacchanalia” photoshoot at the end of the night – just hilarious but OMG working with drunk models is hard work – “sit still”, “stop giggling” – never again! Still I managed to do both my favourite styles of photography in one night so it’s churlish to complain. Canon 1Ds Mk III / Tv: 30 secs / Av: f/3.2 / ISO: 1600

Not break and enter as front door was open. I am calling the series … The Koala Caper / My belief is that this expression is one of smugness!!
