Iris ensata Spring 2007
This is one of my all time favourite photographs so I thought I would share it. It was taken on a point and shoot about 3 years ago so is only available for greeting cards or small prints as the resolution is not high enough for larger prints. The flowers in the foreground of this photo have a story of their own. The bulbs of the irises were planted by the first lighthouse keepers in the garden of the long since ruined keepers house. All that remains of the house is a portion of the garden. The iris bulbs come up every spring as a reminder of what once was.
A black and white with vignetting version of my image of Port Fairy Lighthouse. This is one of my all time favourite photographs so I thought I would share it. It was taken on a point and shoot about 3 years ago so is not available for larger prints. The flowers in the foreground of this photo have a story of their own. The bulbs of the irises were planted by the first lighthouse keepers in the garden of the long since ruined keepers house. All that remains of the house is a portion of the garden. The iris bulbs come up every spring as a reminder of what once was. Colour version is also available. This is how it looks in card form: I have this image on my wall using a black matte and charcoal frame which looks absolutely amazing and sets off the black and white image well.

Vincent’s Cat Recently I’ve been looking at Vincent Van Gogh’s paintings. I love his irises and wanted to paint some myself. Their complicated forms and brilliant deep blues captivated me. As some of you may know I have a fondness for cats. During my life I have had two exceptional ginger cats ‘Victor’ and ‘Mittens’ who were very dear to me; this is dedicated to their memory. Acrylic on canvas / Size: 30cm x 30cm Original SOLD
This photograph also appears in my 2009 Calendar Macro of a purple Iris taken during a light rain. (The bright white pin dots on the center petal are actually reflections on tiny drops of water … you can see this in Large view). Views = 868 as of Dec. ‘09

Webster’s dictionary : Enjoyment or Pleasure / That’s what happens when I see this fantastic Iris….. / Shot early morning on 06/13/09 just after a magnificent thunder storm the night before……more Lightning and Thunder, Rain and Hail than we normally receive in one storm….a night that inspires and creates dreams…..this is one of many shots that the wonderful staff of Wyntour Gardens in South Redding, CA graciously gave me permission to shoot and offered me full run of their awesome nursery…. ENJOY / Best if viewed in large format. Joyce / /
Taken earlier this month in my garden of my smaller Iris- I just love the different soft shapes and twists to each and every petal- apart from the vibrant colours and unique markings! no wonder it is a favourite flower of many! Taken with a Fuji A600 Finepix Camera

Delicate Irises. Original Art by Angela F. Watercolour on Watercolour Paper. This is a portion of the whole painting, because I must scan it in four pieces and then patch the pieces together, which I cannot do in this heat because it makes the computer crash.
