Echinacea purpurea (purple coneflower) with a dark twist. This was the first of my Dark Dreams flower series, most of which I have pulled from redbubble. It was also one of my first images here. Obviously it was photoshoped. I get a lot of questions about why there are scratches on it, it was to give it an old aged look. The texture would make it a great canidate for a canvas print… hint hint ;) This is the original: / I believe this is the largest image in my portfolio, and that is because it was taken with my old 35 mm SLR, then scanned in (I have a really good scanner that scans really big) If you are seeing this image in a group for the first time, that is because I just realized it wasn’t in any groups! I must have cleared it out to make room for newer stuff. This peice was my very first one chosen on the Featured Art page and was featured in Ebony and Ivory group. Thank you! —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-— / This piece can be found in my Flora Calendar. / For more products featuring this image, visit Karri’s Zazzle Store
The Butchart Gardens in Brentwood Bay on Vancouver Island, Canada, is one of the world’s premier floral show gardens. Jennie Butchart began to shape this magnificent landscape in 1904. She established, in the style of the grand estates of the period, several distinct gardens to evoke a range of aesthetic experiences. An abandoned limestone quarry was transformed into the dramatic Sunken Garden. More from Butchart Gardens:
I have just been sorting out my files and came across this image I took several months back – hope you like it :)
Title thanks to my husband… I was stumped and when I asked my husband for a suggestion for the title he said the daisies were natures beauty and shone amongst a gloomy winters day, which to him is the essence of winter. part of a ttv (through the viewfinder) series Theory: / TTV (Through The Viewfinder) photography is when you use an old medium format camera and a digital camera. / These old medium format twin reflex cameras have large viewfinders. Firstly you compose your image using the medium format camera (in my case i have used a mamiya c33) then you actually take the picture using a digital camera (here i use my pentax K10) of what is in the viewfinder of the old camera.
