  • Though Jaigarh Fort is often very utilitarian and functional rather than having purpose directed at form and beauty, the central courtyard and gardens provide a wonderful contrast. There are two chhatri (‘umbrella’) structures at each end of the courtyard, next to the fort wall. These are linked by a deep red arched bridge, which itself has beautiful carvings. There is a wonderful view over (left to right) the Amber Fort, Amber City, Jaipur City and the Aravalli Hills. On the right, the fort wall contains holes for pouring hot water and oil, and for archers to aim at any potential invaders or unwelcome guests.

  • First Light Garden of the Gods, Colorado I knew I was in for a stunning morning a couple days ago when I went down to Colorado Springs/Manitou Springs to Garden of the Gods, the way down saw low clouds hanging over the mountains and foothills along with fog, a condition which is not often seen here in Colorado, due to our dryness. I lucked out, hardcore at that! I would have the chance to shoot so many shots that were filled with atmosphere! The clouds & fog did break, as did the rain showers, and the result was some incredible lighting and some really clean and pure skies. Shot details Minolta 5D / Minolta 18-200 DT Lens / Singh-Ray CPL / Hoya UV HDR and LucisArt goodness!

  • I wonder when the last time this old car was more than just yard art.

  • I love photographing in bad weather, there is just something about the drama of it all that amazes me, and this was of no exception. Garden of the Gods outside of Colorado Springs is the location, a place which, is simply magical and unlike anywhere else on Earth…the light here is the best I have ever seen, and even when there is none, it still holds it own. Captured this past early spring, where at the higher elevations the clouds brought snow, but where I was at, it was rain. • I was extremely bored today and I wanted to do something creative so I found the bubbles and started blowing out in the backyard. It was a little windy today so it was a stupid idea but I couldn’t stop trying, I just wanted ONE ! bubble with some sort of reflection before it popped. It was a mess, dripping bubbles everywhere and dropping my camera around my wrist a hundred times and then POP…..too late ! but finally I got one I really liked ….it reminds me of a garden globe.

  • Bamboo at Waimea Falls Park / North Shore, Oahu, Hawaii

  • They just love their hedges in Belgium… Perfectly manicured hedges. I managed to capture this lone gardener on his way through the maze with classic stone wall buildings as his backdrop.

  • Another “postcard” from Japan. Okayama Korakuen Garden is considered as one of the three most important landscape gardens of Japan. A stroll through its ground is a tranquil and amazing experience full of surprises like this serene scene. The black castle of Okayama which can be seen from within the garden adds to its grandeur. • Just before sunset, a last trip by a colorful dining spot for a nightcap for this weary traveller. Butterflies are known to fly many, many miles in a single day in search of nectar from flowers and flowering plants.
