We just recently spent some time up at the North Shore of Lake Superior and visited the rose garden in Duluth, MN. This gazebo caught my eye which overlooks the lake. All photos were taken with a Kodak Easyshare Z915 point and shoot camera.
While recently visiting the North Shore of Lake Superior, we went into Duluth to see the rose garden. It is a good city block full of hanging plants and many different types of rose bushes with ground cover flowers in front of them. There is a paved pathway below the gardens with lights and pretty fences that overlook the magnificent Lake Superior. In this photo you can see the famous Lift Bridge in the distance. When boats are too tall to go under the bridge at its’ normal height, they toot their horns twice to alert the bridge master, who controls the traffic over the bridge. The traffic is stopped and the bridge lifts up to allow the taller boats safe passage. All photos were taken with the Kodak Easyshare Z915 point and shoot camera.
Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver, BC, is an excellent place to find a variety of roses abloom throughout much of the warm season. These pink beauties grew among many other roses with different colors and forms. Canon Rebel XSi / Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM / 1/1250, f/5, 0.0, ISO 400, 154mm, hand held

HK© 2009 9×12 colored woodless pencils on charcoal paper. I don’t often draw flowers, but I had taken a photo of this in our garden and decided to practice again. Charcoal paper gives a nice texture with shading.
a timeless picture of a classic rose.
These roses grow on an arbor that shades a tucked-away sitting area at the Village Green Resort Garden in Cottage Grove, Oregon. It is such a pleasant garden for a leisurely walk down curving pathways to find flowers, benches and even secret places. There are loads of flowers for the bees to pollinate.
