This is my favorite photo of all! There is a wild red rose by my kitchen door. Late one afternoon, I was clipping tired blooms from the clusters; some clusters were hanging down. As I reached for this one to turn it over, a glimpse of gold flashed in the low sun. I looked again and discovered this tiny little frog napping in the heart of the bloom. I had only the negative and a small digital file from a scan, and it has taken me a month to get it into the appropriate high-resolution format where I can finally offer it for sale! part of a ttv (through the viewfinder) series Theory: / TTV (Through The Viewfinder) photography is when you use an old medium format camera and a digital camera. / These old medium format twin reflex cameras have large viewfinders. Firstly you compose your image using the medium format camera (in my case i have used a mamiya c33) then you actually take the picture using a digital camera (here i use my pentax K10) of what is in the viewfinder of the old camera.

This rose is a little tattered round the edges, but still beautiful, more beautiful even. I laid it on the snow to take this photo, and it survived very well indeed. / Nikon D50 50mm f1.8 lens

TAROT SERIES Original Available A4- £70 + P&P Finally I’ve made a start on my Tarot Project / I would like to do the full deck but will be starting with / the Major Arcana (this will probably take me some years / to complete, but you have got to start somewhere) I am deciding whether to do an all female tarot, whether this would work for divination purposes. As we all have male and female energies, I’m hoping to tap into this concept. / On completion, I will decide whether to add colour to the deck, again an important feature in representing energies and elements. I also need to think of a name for the Deck. / (Any feedback on these 3 ideas is most welcomed) Each piece will be an artwork in its own right (with its art and tarot title). When the deck is complete, I will add borderings to make them into the cards. My Inspirations will be Beauty, Nature, Modern Subculture meets Ancient Culture, My Dreams and Visions, The Devine Feminine / Hope you enjoy xx The Empress represents Motherhood and fertility, represented by the roses on her skirt and the soft invite of her petticoats. The crescent moon of her belt buckle represents, the waxing and waning of the moon and its links to fertility (the cycle of life). The cats are the children in this piece, in need of love, care and attention, but ultimately their own spirits and independant beings. The Empress has physical and spirtitual security, you can tell by her confident gaze she is mature and knowing. Loving and generous, she wears her heart on her sleeve and has one foot firmly in earthy matters and her spirit flying with Angels I want to thank my good friend Paul for picking up on the Crescent Moon Belt Buckle, something I was unaware of, that emerged from the subconscious and makes so much sense in the piece. / Paul’s Gallery-Gottheshot / Thank YOU xx Pen and Ink on Cartridge Paper FEATURED IN ALL THINGS BLACK & THE DEVINE FEMININE JULY 2009 (with thanks x) / FEATURED IN REAL MEN WEAR TIGHTS AUGUST 2009 / FEATURED IN PAINTED LADIES AUGUST 2009
