  • After posting Alien Birth I thought I should add something more attractive. So, in keeping with the ‘Alien’ theme, here is ‘Alien Beauty’. I’m no horticulturist, to me these are the yellow flowers of weeds with a black centre. But in infrared they become wonderful daisy-like beauties that might well have bloomed on some lovely, but alien, world. (the sideways thing happened again – reloading image while you’re watching!)

  • From the Japanese Gardens in Portland, Oregon.

  • Sally Omar / got inspired by This work and wrote this Poem to go with this Image , Thank you sally / —-—-—-—-- / VIRGIN Her smile like a moonbeam / Eyes like a violet dream / Skin so soft and like milk / Covering her hair with silk / Lips full and ever so red / Words of love never said / Breasts untouched by any hand / Never looked upon by any man / A heart so warm beyond compare / Yet no man has never been near / Her legs so long as she walks / Words so eloquent as she talks / Keeping herself ever so pure / Asking for nothing..wanting more / A woman yet a child / Her temperament so very mild / One day a true love will come along / Sing her a beautiful song / She will give her love so freely / And a VIRGIN she will no longer be.

  • Dandelion silhouette at sunset.

  • This is the bridge that crosses the Myall River from Teagardens to Hawks Nest. / It was taken on the way home from a good meal to the B&B. As you can see the water was so still it mirrored the lights on the bridge. It is as it was taken by our point & shoot camera, a Sony Cybershot 4.1 at maximum zoom and without a flash. / Viewed by more than 50 visitors and my most favourited work. Thanks to the hosts of 50 things for featuring this work. Their encouragement much appreciated. / / This pic was voted in the top ten of a challenge / in the group “Rivers, Lakes and Dams” then / selected for the home page, my very first such honour. / Then it was featured in the PEACE, LOVE & TRANQUILITY Group. / Recently it was picked in the top ten in the avatar challenge for the Black with a touch of colour group. / Thanks to all who voted for it. / Many thanks to the hosts of all groups for their encouragement! /

  • Title thanks to my husband… I was stumped and when I asked my husband for a suggestion for the title he said the daisies were natures beauty and shone amongst a gloomy winters day, which to him is the essence of winter. • PLEASE VIEW LARGE This is one of the most peaceful shots I took. Thus the illusive and loving Wendy Slee has been called by these very leaves to meet them. / Note: within minuets of the viewing Wendy channeled this poem and I knew then when you follow how you feel all becomes like a bright light of Love. I mean this shot literally called Wendy to them (leaves). She is a treasure to connect with.. Much Love and Appreciation Wendy.. Breeze of Existence / By: Wendy Slee 2008 Then as if through deep forests, / With their breath held waiting / Comes a stirring, a movement, anticipating… / Leaves awaken, heart quickens, limbs lift and extend / To receive the cool caress of a long welcome friend. / And you are here, / You the wind, / It is you that I know, / Yet know not where you come from, nor where you will go. / A free spirit you pass by me, / Yet somehow remain, / Swirling around me and through me, / Easing the pain… I ache to just hold you, keep you here for all time / But I can’t catch the wind / Cannot grasp what’s not mine…. / If I close my fingers, I’ll hold nothing but air… / If I reach out to possess you, it’s myself I’ll ensnare… / So I stand in your path, feel your breath on my face / And just bask in your spirit / As it moves through my space… / In the silence of your passing, the emptiness wake, / There’s a stillness that echoes with all you evoked / The power and beauty of the zephyr flies free / But your essence and magic has become part of me..

  • Sutton Bank is a high vantage point at the very edge of the Hambleton Hills and the North York Moors with extensive views over the Vale of York and the Vale of Mowbray. Because of its location and high elevation, Sutton Bank is popular with gliding and flying enthusiasts. Predominant landmarks include Whitestone Cliff and Roulston Scar, the former overlooking the mysterious (and reputedly bottomless !) Lake Gormire. Close nearby are the villages of Sutton-under-Whitestonecliff, and Kilburn (famous for the White Horse of Kilburn, and Robert Thompson – the “Mouseman” of Kilburn). / Sutton Bank is one of the most spectacular inland cliffs anywhere in Britain, and carries one of the most hair-raising main roads in the country. The near vertical drop from top to bottom is around 140 metres, and crosses at least two major geological boundaries. / The Sutton Bank National Park Centre is on the western edge of the fabulous North York Moors National Park – home to the largest expanse of heather moorland in England. It provides the perfect introduction to the National Park, its people, history and wildlife. Nikon D60 / HDR in Photomatix & pp in PS CS3 / Lens: Nikkor 18-200mm / 1/160 f/9.0 ISO200
