The world passes by in the window of an old, wooden, decaying garage. The building and window contained in this image can be viewed in both ‘Half Light’ and ‘Full Light’ in my portfolio of images. 387 Vievs at 12/11/09. Featured in ‘Friends of Bangor and North Down Camera Club, Northern Ireland’.

So, I’ve just dropped the GF off at work and as I’m heading home I find this disused garage. The doors are broken and I take a look inside the old workshop. Hmmm nothing here but an old busted up arcade game with its chair… so I grab my trusty camera and my monopod and set the chair up in the middle of the workshop. Now apart from the hole in the roof and the light from the door its dark in here, so I set the timer on the camera to 20 secs so as to avoid any camera shake. I took a few pics and then thought I’d have a smoke and a think about what else I could do with this place. So I switched the camera off (or so I thought, I’d actually pressed the shutter button instead) and sat down to think about the hole in the roof and the light coming through it… Click went the camera. So here’s the result… Me trespassing and smoking a cigarette in somebody’s workplace. Either way you look at it I’m now a criminal an I’m just waiting for the knock at the door!
T-shirt in honour of Che’s recent victory in the Dead Revolutionary DJ Championships. Che took out Karl Marx in the final with a combo of slick mixing and funky Latin infused house which proved more crowd friendly than Marx’s uncomprimising industrial techno and three deck wizardry. / “The Legacy” is part of the Still Life Collection of Memory Paintings…do you remember long ago before Ikea, and flat pack shelving, fathers would nail up a few odd planks of wood in the shed, and tools were kept there, odd nails, pieces of rope, garden implements and other paraphanalia…long after they have gone the tools remain in memoriam, a tribute to ingenuity, common sense and “making do”... When Jaguar cars introduced their XK120 range of sports cars in 1948 the effect was electric, all previous cars immediately looked very dated and it set new standards for the industry. It performed even better than it looked thanks to it’s brilliant ohc engine and superb, for its day, road-holding. It was also relatively inexpensive costing under a £1000 when most comparable cars were three or even four times as much, truly one of the all time classics but at one time in the 1960s one could be picked up for a few hundred pounds.
Taken in my garage :D
There must be a classic car buried under knotted ivy in this shed. There always is. / Loscombe, Dorset, UK
