Gallon House covered Bridge is located near Mt. Angel, Oregon. It gets it’s name from it’s use as a way-point for running home brew from Mt. Angel, a “wet” town, to Silverton, a “dry” town in the early days. Liquor was sold only in gallon jugs, hence the name. / World Guide Number 37-24-01 Howe type bridge built in 1916, spans Abiqua Creek.
Just my opinion!

This retro Esso gas pump shows 60 cents per gallon. It is wishful thinking that we might see those low prices again! ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Please don’t copy or download this image. What a deal!!! I hope Dub-ya sees this! Wait…scratch that…he might think it is a nifty idea. Ugh. How many remember the old gas pumps where the gas station attendant had to pump the gasoline from an underground storage tank up into the glass bowl. When the nozzle was squeezed, the gasoline would gravity flow down into the vehicle’s gas tank. No electricity was needed. Price was calculated by the number of gallons used times the price per gallon. In this era the price was somewhere around .15 cents a gallon. Ahhhhhhhhh, the good old days
Took this one at the dump a couple of months ago … I find the place a fascinating conglomeration of human discards and degrading objects … all those things we just don’t need anymore … they disappear without a word into giant landfill … pity the landfills are all filling up … what do we do with our rubbish next?!
