First Image in series. This photograph was taken on the first day that Federation Square in Melbourne was opened to the public in 2002. It is my eye, looking up to the ceiling and seeing all these amazing shapes. The image is unaltered, taken in the old school way – on film.
Random shot of the GOMA (Gallery of Modern Art) sign reflected in the GOMA bookshop windows, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia … I loved the colours mainly, otherwise it’s completely random, lol … :)

“Lilies in Window” is an original, signed acrylic painting on a gallery-wrapped canvas by artist Michael Arnold. This painting was a commission piece done for a client. The design was made from a picture the client had found in a magazine. The painting was created in grays and white with a pop of color added to the tops of the lilies. Michael Arnold Art /

While wandering through the Tate Modern Gallery in London a few years ago, I followed the lead of the many and carried a small sketchpad and pencil purchased in the TATE shop, sketching various works of art. / This one, done in only a matter of seconds is of a wonderful painting of a storm at sea. There were a number by the same artist, all painted on board a ship during storms, and therefore painted very quickly and with a life & vitality which can only be captured in the moment and in the field. Studio work does not usually convey the same spontaneity. /
Seriously, these ARE shadows…. Shot at GOMA, on a night shoot with students, cross processed – Gallery of Modern Art
Another piece of interesting architecture in London..
These are some lava lamp style bubbles that I threw together, thought it seemed like a cool idea at the time. / Made and Rendered in Blender.
I visited the Norman Lindsay Gallery yesterday & have come away feeling so inspired. / A beautiful gallery in the Blue mountains, where you can wander amongst the grounds, surrounded by Lindsay’s statues, sit in the gallery as you gaze in awe upon his paintings, or marvel at the detail in his etchings…... I won’t even mention his wonderful children’s stories or his model ships (just a hobby of his apparently)....... This Magnolia was blooming in the garden behind his studio. / Magnolias & Norman Lindsay….... my life is good…... [canon 1000D, tamron 18-200mm]
This is a new version of an old composition that I made several years ago. It is a bunch of cylinders in a wall at slightly varying degrees and each is planted at a slightly different depth in the wall. / This was made with Blender and rendered with YaFray / Featured in Art in Math Group, August 27, 2009 / Featured in All Abstract Art, October 10,2009 / Featured in Shapes & Patterns – Limit of 2 images per day, October 30,2009
Simply a hallway made of metal scaffolds / Made in blender and rendered in YaFray
Influence of nature. Graceful curves. The wispy lines resambles branches and leaf motif on this piece. Enjoy it!
A Tibetan prayer flag is commonly called Lung-Ta or “Windhorse.” That is partly because wherever it appears, the horse stands for amplified energy. Where it was tamed and especially where used not only as a steed but also as a draft animal, the horse symbolizes force that can be controlled to benefit society. In physics, using the British system, the unit of work is HP, horse-power. / In Buddhism the horse is one of the 12 animals in the Asian 60-year calendrical cycle. Shakyamuni Buddha is said to have been born in the Year of the Horse, and so 2002, which was mainly a horse year, was considered especially auspicious. The 12 animals rotate through each of the 5 elements and the 2 sexes. Compassionate Bodhisattva, Avalokiteshvara (Chenresi) once took the form of a horse. The horse symbolizes energy, and the energetic pursuit of the objectives of Buddha’s teachings. Milarepa used it as a metaphor for Mind in Song of the Galloping Horse of a Yogi:- In the mountain hermitage which is my body, / In the temple of my breast / At the summit of the triangle of my heart, / The horse which is my mind flies like the wind. / He gallops on the plains of great bliss. / If he persists, he will attain the rank of a victorious Buddha. / Going backward, he cuts the root of samsara; / Going forward he reaches the high land of buddhahood. / Astride such a horse, one attains the highest illumination.
